Coming back to yourself isn’t always about finding the right answer.

Sometimes, it begins by becoming quiet enough to listen to what your body has been trying to tell you. 🌿

ReTurn to You is a 10-week 1:1 somatic journey beginning September 22 - with 8 spots available.

If you read this and felt a quiet “yes… this is what I’ve been looking for,” send me a DM with RETURN and I’ll share more about this journey. 🧡✨

Dance can be so much more than movement.

It can be a way of listening.

To the body.
To emotion.
To what is moving inside us before the mind has found the words.

And perhaps especially for those of us who have been thinking too much and feeling too little.

When we’re caught in our heads, movement can offer another way in.

Instead of analyzing what we’re feeling, we can begin by sensing.

Moving.
Breathing.
Listening.

And sometimes, something begins to shift.

We may feel more present.
More connected.
More alive.
More available to ourselves.

This is one of the things I love most about dance: it doesn’t ask us to understand everything before we begin.

Sometimes the body can lead the way.

And there’s something fascinating about what happens when we dance: rhythm, sensation, coordination, memory, attention and emotion are all engaged at once. Somewhere within that complexity, something can begin to reorganize.

Dance can be play.
Expression.
Ritual.
Prayer.
A way of giving shape to something we don’t yet know how to say.

A pathway back into relationship with ourselves.

And sometimes, it’s simply a way home.
Back into the body.
Back into feeling.
Back into ourselves.

So what happens when you stop trying to “dance well” and simply allow yourself to move?

Maybe you don’t need to know where you’re going.

Maybe you can let your body show you. 🤍

Sometimes anxiety isn't loud.

Sometimes it feels like your mind is everywhere except where you are.

Like having too many tabs open in your mind...
while your body quietly waits for you to come back.

When that happens, I don't try to think my way out of it.

I gently return to my body.

One of the practices I often return to is gentle shaking. It helps shift my attention away from looping thoughts and back to sensation, breath, and the present moment.

The goal isn't to shake harder.
It's to stay present and aware while you move.

✨ Feel your feet on the ground.
✨ Let your breath stay natural.
✨ Keep the movement gentle.
✨ Slow down before coming to stillness.
✨ Pause... and notice what has shifted.

Often, it's in the stillness afterward that we realize our breath has softened, our body feels lighter, and we're more present than we were just a minute before.

You don't have to do it perfectly. Start with 1–2 minutes and simply notice what your body has to say.

Have you ever tried somatic shaking? I'd love to hear what you noticed. 🌿

When your mind is spiraling, your body may need contact before it needs another explanation.

Sometimes the way back isn’t through thinking harder - it’s through coming back to sensation.

Palming and body tapping or percussion are simple practices that can invite your awareness back into your body through rhythm, pressure, vibration, and touch.

A small practice of meeting yourself exactly where you are.

A gentle reminder:

I am here.
This is my body.
I can come back to myself.

There is no “right” sensation to feel.

You may notice warmth, tingling, vibration, numbness- or very little at first. The practice is simply to stay curious, breathe, and allow your body to guide the experience.

Save this for moments of overthinking, overwhelm, or feeling disconnected. 🤍

In March of this year, I was one of the consultants for the Women’s Well-Being Journey at Alfa Laval. I had the joy of facilitating the program’s first workshop, where we explored the question: “Who is the woman I want to be as a professional?” 🌿✨

Throughout the workshop, we co-created a space for listening, presence, reflection, and connection, exploring themes such as self-care, emotional intelligence, well-being, and the balance between personal and professional life.

I deeply believe in the importance of bringing practices of presence, embodiment, and human development into organizations. When we care for people, we also transform the culture around us.

It was very special to facilitate this experience through ASAS and to support this group of women, contributing to the creation of more human, conscious, and sustainable spaces within the workplace. And on June 10th, we will have the final workshop of this journey.

Grateful to ASAS Treinamentos Corporativos and Alfa Laval for their trust and openness in building this process together. 💛

Some moments in our lives call us inward, to slow down, listen more deeply, and reconnect with what truly matters. 🌿

Over the last several months, I’ve been in one of those seasons. Reflecting deeply, restructuring parts of my life, learning, creating, resting, and remembering what it means to come home to myself… again and again.

And now, I feel ready to return here in a more intentional way, sharing more of my work, practices, reflections, and the things that help me feel grounded, alive, and connected, especially during challenging moments.

For those who are new here… hello there, I’m Danielle Sadhana. I’m a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, expressive arts facilitator trained in the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, and active meditation facilitator. My work is centered around the body as a portal for healing, creativity, presence, and transformation.

Here, you’ll find reflections on embodiment, nervous system regulation, movement, creativity, and gentle reminders to slow down and listen within.

I’m grateful you’re here. Um abraço! ✨

On February 2nd last year, I was in Rio Vermelho, in Salvador, Bahia. I had always wanted to be in Salvador on this day that is dedicated to Yemanjá, to witness the ritual, the gathering, the celebration. The sea was full of flowers, offerings, and wishes.

In times like these, I keep returning to the importance of ritual. Of being together. Of collective experiences of faith, hope, and joy - not as mere mental concepts, but as lived experiences. 🌊

Overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re failing — or that you’re broken. It’s your system calling for care. And when it all feels like too much, the answer isn’t to push harder. It’s an invitation to pause, soften, and return to your body. 🌿

✨ Try this now:
Gently place a hand on your heart or your belly.
Take 3 slow breaths.
Feel the rise and fall beneath your hand.
No need to fix anything — simply notice.

These small, simple moments are what restore balance. They regulate your nervous system, create space inside, and gently bring you back to yourself.

💛 Want to go deeper? On October 4th, I’m hosting a free 90-minute workshop Reclaim Your Calm & Creativity. You’ll learn embodied tools to shift from overwhelm into grounded presence — so you can meet life with more clarity and ease.

Respire 3 vezes bem devagar.

Thank you so much for all the birthday love, meus amores! 💛

I received so many sweet messages, so many caring gestures, and feel truly blessed to have such beautiful people in my life.

A few months ago I went through a medical scare that really rattled me. And on the morning of my birthday, as I looked out at the breathtaking view in front of me, I was reminded of just how precious life is. How beautiful it is. What a gift it is to simply be alive, to be here now, and to take in all the beauty around me.

I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful souls, to have this incredibly loving circle of friends, and to be reminded again and again of the beauty in this world.

Thank you for the messages, the care, the love. I’m sending it all back out into the world today — may it land exactly where it’s needed most.
Much love to you all! xoxo ✨
