🇺🇸🇧🇩BSCA THIKANA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2026: Goalkeeper of The Tournament goes to Sandwip United ⚽️ Rewiesh ROONY 💚

2011 was a year that created history for Sandwip United—a team that, at the time, was known as Bangladesh Brothers Alliance (BBA). That year, the club captured its second BSCA Championship and etched its name into the history of Bangladeshi soccer in America.

15 years later, a new chapter has been written.

In 2026, Sandwip United has once again made history, capturing the BSCA Championship—this time with a squad made up exclusively of local players. A group that embodied grit, passion, intensity, determination, and heart from the first whistle to the last. They believed, they fought, and they left everything on the field. 🏆

A massive thank you to the Bangladeshi Sports Council of America (BSCA) for putting together an incredible tournament and for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make an event of this magnitude possible. Your dedication to the community and the sport does not go unnoticed.

And a huge shoutout to Bronx United Sports Club for an incredible final and for pushing Sandwip United to dig deep and use every ounce of energy. You gave the fans a spectacular show and made the championship even more memorable. Special recognition as well to Shamit Shome, a Bangladeshi legend in the making, for being part of such an unforgettable occasion.

At the end of it all, history has been made once again.

From BBA in 2011 to Sandwip United in 2026—15 years later, the trophy is coming back home.

সন্দ্বীপ উপজেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার নতুন আহ্বায়ক কমিটির প্রতি দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ

আগামী সপ্তাহের মধ্যেই সন্দ্বীপে স্কুল পর্যায়ের ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাচ্ছে। এ উপলক্ষে সন্দ্বীপ উপজেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার নতুন আহ্বায়ক কমিটির প্রতি বিনীতভাবে কয়েকটি বিষয় তুলে ধরতে চাই।

গত বছরের স্কুল পর্যায়ের প্রতিযোগিতায় সাঁতার ইভেন্টে সন্দ্বীপের শিক্ষার্থীরা অসাধারণ সাফল্য অর্জন করেছিল। সীমিতসংখ্যক প্রতিযোগী নিয়ে অংশগ্রহণ করেও তারা চট্টগ্রাম জেলা পর্যায়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার গৌরব অর্জন করে এবং প্রায় ১১টি পদক জয় করে সন্দ্বীপের সুনাম বৃদ্ধি করে।

এ কারণে আমরা উপজেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার পূর্ণাঙ্গ কমিটির তালিকা প্রকাশ করার জন্য অনুরোধ জানাচ্ছি। পাশাপাশি, এ বছর সাঁতারের প্রতিটি ইভেন্টে কমপক্ষে দুজন করে প্রতিযোগী নির্বাচন করার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি। গত বছরের চারজন প্রতিযোগী এখনও বিভিন্ন স্কুলে অধ্যয়নরত রয়েছেন বলে জানা গেছে। তাদের অভিজ্ঞতাকে কাজে লাগিয়ে একটি শক্তিশালী দল গঠন করা সম্ভব।

আমাদের প্রস্তাব হলো, মোট ১২ সদস্যের একটি সাঁতার দল গঠন করে তাদের জন্য সন্দ্বীপে নিয়মিত প্রশিক্ষণের ব্যবস্থা করা এবং গত বছরের মতো চট্টগ্রামে অনুষ্ঠিত চূড়ান্ত প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ নিশ্চিত করা।

সঠিক পরিকল্পনা, প্রশিক্ষণ এবং সময়োপযোগী উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হলে সাঁতারে সন্দ্বীপ আবারও সাফল্যের ধারা অব্যাহত রাখতে সক্ষম হবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি।সাঁতার সন্দ্বীপের সার্বজনীন মৌলিক খেলা বলে আমরা মনে করি | সাবেক উপজেলা নির্বাহী মং চিং নু মারমা ছিলেন ক্রীড়ার অনুপম পৃষ্ঠপোষক - তার প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই |

সন্দ্বীপের ক্রীড়াঙ্গনের উন্নয়ন এবং নতুন প্রজন্মের খেলোয়াড় তৈরির স্বার্থে বিষয়টি গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে বিবেচনা করার জন্য উপজেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার নতুন আহ্বায়ক কমিটির প্রতি আন্তরিক আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি। ( এস এম ফেরদৌস , সভাপতি - সন্দ্বীপ ইউনাইটেড ইউ এস এ )
