A unique tennis camp rooted in Piermont and its incredible natural surroundings. 🎾🌎 Based at the Piermont Community Center, our campers had the opportunity to take their learning beyond the tennis courts and explore the environment that surrounds their own community. In partnership with Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, kids experienced hands-on science—fishing and identifying fish, learning about marine life, and using gamified activities to explore migratory birds and polar ice caps. It’s what makes this camp special: holistic education that develops the mind and body together through tennis, movement, curiosity, teamwork, and real-world discovery. Some said there was no demand. Dozens of kids signed up. Others said that there was too@much red tape. Yet here we are. The courts are open. The kids are playing. The community showed up. A district with a proud tennis legacy, revived. Thank you to the East Ramapo Central School District and the Spring Valley NAACP for partnering with Rockland Community Tennis Association to help make this vision a reality. Day 1 was just the beginning. 🎾

When sports, learning, and positive mentors come together, amazing things happen. We’re proud to see our kids gaining confidence, making friends, and discovering what they’re capable of this summer.

Every part of the Piermont Community Center has become a space for tennis, learning, and fun—from the courts and outdoor spaces to the gym and activity rooms.

This is only the beginning. More videos to come featuring our science experiments, content activities, and the many ways our students are growing both on and off the court.

As part of our commitment to ensuring that every child in Rockland County has the opportunity to experience tennis, Rockland Community Tennis continues to expand its Summer Access Initiative. In addition to our summer camp programs at North Rockland High School and Pearl River High School this summer, we are proud to now provide tennis opportunities for students within the East Ramapo Central School District.

Funded through the combined support of Rockland Community Tennis and the USTA Foundation, this initiative helps remove financial barriers and creates equitable access to high-quality tennis instruction, positive youth development, and healthy recreation opportunities. By strategically offering programs throughout the county, we are working to ensure that children from every community—regardless of zip code or family income—have a pathway into the sport.

Through this investment, more young people will have the opportunity to learn, play, grow, and thrive both on and off the court.

Thanks to funding from the USTA Foundation and Rockland Community Tennis Association, we are proud to provide a FREE summer tennis camp for students in Grades 3–12 from the East Ramapo Central School District.

This program is about more than tennis—it’s about opportunity, confidence, healthy activity, and creating memorable experiences for local youth. We are excited to bring a quality program directly to the students and families who can benefit from it most.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. We can’t wait to see these young athletes on the courts this summer! 🎾

In partnership with Flying High Flag Football, Premier Athletes, and the Piermont Police Athletic League, this program helps boys and girls in grades K–5 build skills, confidence, and game knowledge while preparing for fall flag football and NFL FLAG opportunities.
