I woke up today with yesterday's Afternoon Tea & Etiquette Experience on my mind and I wanted to be dramatic about sharing it with you. Mainly because each portion of the experience had its own heightened pronouncement as we moved from:
* a beautiful table setup
* to the Mexican Hot Chocolate and Coconut Truffle starter teapots
* then a pumpkin chai soup with toasted crumpets
* adding on a Champagne Raspberry pot of tea
* to the traditional 3-tier service
* with engrossed conversation all throughout
. . and then the time got away from us and it was sadly, time to depart.

I was traveling back to the States from a fabulous trip in Sint Maarten and experienced another traveler watching videos from her phone ON SPEAKER. This was such a disturbance to those of us sitting around her and she was oblivious.
An important component of etiquette is understanding how your behavior impacts others. When you put your call, video, music, etc. on speaker, you are subjecting the public to your unsolicited chatter and noise. You are also not respecting the privacy of the caller when having a conversation on speaker in public.
Remember to keep the things emanating from your devices to yourself when in public. Please use your headphones, ear buds, etc. to listen privately and preserve the peace of the space you're in.

✨️ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE✨️ was one for the books! The Office of Student Life & Development went over and above with their setup, tablesetting, menu, staff and tech support. Everything was top tier for their students and the students came with their A-Game.
Our 2-hour session covered how to approach lunch or dinner meetings, navigating table settings, paying and tipping, dress codes, and more.
