Today, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Crags Radio.

Following careful consideration by the Board of Directors, Trustees and Management Team, the difficult decision has been made to cease broadcasting from Monday 20th July 2026.

This has not been an easy decision. Over recent months we have explored every possible avenue to secure the station's future, but despite our best efforts, continuing operations is no longer sustainable.

Since launching, Crags Radio has been driven by the passion and dedication of an incredible team of volunteers. Together, we built more than a radio station—we created a platform that celebrated local people, supported independent artists and businesses, helped charities and community groups, trained new broadcasters, covered local events, and brought people together.

We have been humbled by the support of our listeners, volunteers, sponsors, partners and the wider community. Thanks to you, Crags Radio grew into an award-winning station with over 100,000 monthly listeners—something we are immensely proud of.

To every presenter, producer, volunteer, sponsor, advertiser, supporter and listener—thank you. Every contribution helped shape the story of Crags Radio.

Our final week of broadcasting begins today, with our last scheduled broadcasts taking place before we close on Monday 20th July. We hope you will join us as we celebrate what we have achieved together and give Crags Radio the send-off it deserves.

Although this chapter is ending, we hope the friendships, memories and impact created will continue long into the future.
