Professor Collica-Cox Recognized for Transformative ‘Puppies on the Block’ Partnership
Pace University’s Puppies on the Block program and Professor Kimberly Collica-Cox were recently honored by Paws Crossed Animal Rescue, alongside the Westchester County Department of Correction. The recognition celebrated the program’s powerful partnership—giving rescue dogs a second chance while creating meaningful, rehabilitative experiences for students and incarcerated individuals. Congratulations to Professor Collica-Cox for her leadership in strengthening communities, paws and people alike.

The Division on Corrections and Sentencing of ASC (American Society of Criminology) selected me as the recipient of the Edward J. Latessa Practitioner Research Award!
The Edward J. Latessa Practitioner Research Award recognizes excellent social science research or implementation that is conducted in government or community agencies to help develop better policy or operate more effectively. The emphasis is placed on a significant contribution to research or implementation science that translates research findings into organizational change involving community corrections, institutional corrections, or the judiciary.

Meet our newest member, Dr. Kimberly Collica-Cox! Dr. Kimberly A. Collica-Cox is a professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Pace University in New York. In addition to her role as an educator, she serves as the director of the university’s jail-based services. She holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and conducts cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) parenting groups at the Westchester County Jail, integrating dog-assisted therapy into the program.
