All the Brothers! Over the last week, I’ve been surrounded by brothers. First stop: Motion picture Museum in LA, then a walk in the Palisades park, then to a doc film 🎥 in T.O about the incredible healing benefits of magic mushrooms 🍄
Deep conversations and the incredible sunlight atop the LA museum brought even more joy to my life.
Thank you life. 🌎
I’m moving around a bit right now. There are a couple of things that allow me to flow and ground: movement, singing, the Heart Sutra, a long morning practice, daily gratitude, good healthy food, AND envisioning my next creative project.
“Allow all things to exist.”

Have you ever had a dream where you remember something about yourself that you had forgotten?
Sometimes we meet very significant people in our dreams and they stay with us for a long time. They might appear as a poet, some kind of devoted artist to remind us of our creative potential. We may feel deep sadness in the dream, the kind that hurts in the heart like after you lose someone you love. The hurt can act as a kind of opening to the guidance that’s trying to enter our energy system through what this artist wakes up in our consciousness. Last year, I dreamt of such an artist and she walked with me off the NYC subway and shared that there was no way she could go wrong with her poetry because she was connected to something greater than herself. She was not distracted by the shenanigans in life because her purpose as a poet was so clear. I listened and paused to feel beyond the words. She was living more than just devotion, it ‘was’ who she was. Her poetry was her constant prayer to and for life. She was not preaching, she was ‘being.’ I was so moved that I wept deep into the pain in my heart. I wept for all the years I had lived ‘beside’ that connection instead of inside of it. I wept because I had forgotten about it. I put my head in my hands and it was as though these thick tears of mine were forming a living prayer for all that I had lost and all that I was now remembering. She rubbed my back and I settled, sitting beside her on the subway platform.
I remember leaving my body before and all the way through a performance.
It was terrifying. I didn’t have the tools to work with it.
I eventually found the right person who understood what it was to be a performer and to take charge of my life when fear crept in. To grow in a way that felt true and meaningful while increasing my confidence.
As a teacher, I bring what was offered to me to my students.
Dare to dream. Go for it.

Becoming a Voice Actor:
Where there is presence, there is authenticity and connection. 🌷
As a coach, I focus on a much larger dimension than just VO audition techniques and practice alone. I am looking at the whole of you. What gets you going every day, what gets in your way, are you at a point where you’re comparing more, is there a thought you have about yourself that is getting louder?
This is where the gold lies with every creative.
The course is made up of those with VO experience (for example: booking a lot but want more techniques and confidence, or, have stopped booking and are frustrated) AND those who are starting out.
I focus on the individual’s needs.
Whether one has VO experience or not, the goal of the voice is generally the same. I have worked extensively with actors, speakers, singers and tv hosts and the number one thing that people are seeking is to feel more of themselves within their reads. To be present. To be authentic. To feel freedom in the lines. When you have an understanding of what your voice is serving underneath the title of voice actor, a lot of positive change can happen.
Each week we meet for 3 hours and we work the auditions, we build character repertoire, and we find out where you’re at as a creative voice trying to break into new ground.
I have witnessed huge transformations in actors during this course because of the inspiring community that is formed and the revelations that happen within each individual Soul when we work with the inner critic. This shifts the work and the relationship to the work immensely.
And...so does the FUN we have!!!!

I voice many popular cartoons on TV and I teach people like you how to make a career out of it! FUN right? It really is.
Here’s the main learning:
👉 How do you find connection in your voice?
When the voice is disconnected from the body, it sounds unauthentic, flat, disembodied.
I’m sure you’ve heard people talking beside you at coffee shops and you can feel that somehow they are distant from their own voice?
I too have been distant from my voice at times. It feels odd.
Do you know what I mean?
So often we are all in what I call ‘the neutral eye zone,’ which means no expression in the eyes. They are a bit dulled down from our busy days, thinking too much, staring at screens etc.
The eyes need LIFE and energy. When you raise your eyebrows or imagine that you see something amazing, your eyes light up.
That state allows you to change.
Change your voice. Change your habits. Change some of your beliefs that are holding you back.
It energizes your pineal gland!
Brings an instant sense of clarity and confidence to your mood.
Try it!
If the eyes are in neutral zone, it makes it hard to sound like you’re having a real conversation when you’re reading a script (whether you’re new to VO or not.)
The art of sounding like you’re having a conversation may sound easy at first, but it’s really not.
In the process of connecting, you’re not just reading a script, you’re actually letting go of your blocks and beliefs about speaking and finding ways to just ‘BE in your body.’ To relax. To be in relationship to the other.
I experience joy when I witness the ‘connection’ happening to my students, when I see the eyes light up and the body move with the voice.
It’s thrilling to me.
