For me, this event represents the fulfillment of a dream years in the making.
Since 2019, through my work in recovery support services and recovery housing, I have carried a vision of creating recovery residences where LGBTQ+ people can find not only recovery, but also safety, belonging, and community. That vision became even more personal following the loss of my friend Lauren, whose life continues to inspire my commitment to ensuring that everyone has access to affirming recovery support.
That is why I am incredibly excited to support the Rainbow Garden Party on June 26th from 5:30–9:30 PM.
This special evening will raise funds to help establish Delaware’s first certified LGBTQ+ Recovery Residence. In this place, LGBTQ+ people in recovery can live, heal, and thrive in an environment that affirms who they are.
The evening will feature:
🌿 A beautiful garden gathering
🎨 Showcases from local LGBTQ+ artists
🍽️ Delicious appetizers provided by community partners
✨ Live performances by Scarlet Masters and Maddelynn Hatter
🤝 Opportunities to connect with advocates, supporters, and community leaders
I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to Andrew Thurn and the incredible team at First State Alliance of Recovery Residences (FSARR) for their leadership, vision, and commitment to making this project a reality. I am deeply honored to have contributed to the development of the LGBTQ+ Recovery Residence Toolkit, which helped lay the foundation for this work. Watching this vision move from concept to implementation has been both humbling and inspiring. I am so proud of you. You all are incredible, and I am so excited to see what comes next!
Recovery is strongest when everyone has a place to belong.
Every ticket purchased and every donation made help bring this important vision closer to reality and create recovery housing that is welcoming, affirming, and accessible for all.

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday! 💛🏳️🌈
As Board Chair of The Frederick Center, I witness every day how deeply this community supports one another. Every person we serve and every program we offer is made possible because of you: the volunteers, donors, advocates, and neighbors who believe that LGBTQIA+ people deserve to feel safe, supported, and at home.
Giving Tuesday is a day when people across the world come together to uplift the nonprofits that mean the most to them. If The Frederick Center has impacted you, your family, or your community, I’m asking you to join Juno & me in supporting them.
✨ Ways to support on Giving Tuesday:
• Share The Frederick Center’s stories and help widen our reach
• Invite a friend or two to follow along
• Make a gift - whether it’s $5 or $500 - to ensure our services remain free
• Spread the word so we can keep building the Frederick we all deserve
Whether you can give a little or a lot, your support helps us provide life-changing LGBTQIA+ programming at no cost to those who rely on us.
Together, we create the community we want to see.
Thank you for supporting The Frederick Center this Giving Tuesday! 💜

Tuesday’s fashionably late ribbon-cutting at The Frederick Center was a moment I won’t forget. As Board Chair, I’ve watched our team of staff and volunteers pour their hearts, sweat, tears, and countless hours into creating a true home for our LGBTQIA+ community. Seeing everyone feeling so at HOME was everything. 🏳️🌈💕
I couldn’t be prouder of our staff, volunteers, and Board. I am so grateful for Kris’s leadership as executive director. The Frederick Center is growing, grounded, and ready for what’s next. 🧡
Our mission has always been simple: everyone belongs. And now, with this new Center open, we are living that mission with even greater impact.
Thank YOU to EVERY volunteer, donor, staff member, partner, and community member who helped make this possible. You’re part of every story of courage, connection, and celebration that walks through our doors.
Here’s to growth, joy, and another year of showing Maryland what belonging looks like. 🌈✨
