EMC Performing Arts Studio

EMC Performing Arts Studio Art Happens Here, Children Learn Here, You Belong Here! At EMC, we use the performing arts as a tool to teach life lessons.

Your child/teen will express themselves creatively, develop solid technical skills and form lasting friendships with like-minded young people. We teach young people the value of discipline, goal-setting and perseverance. We walk alongside our students, offering challenging lesson plans, unforgettable performance opportunities, caring instructors and individualized plans for success. While our program is known for training technically proficient and versatile artists, we are most proud of the poised and prepared young adults that we graduate from our program each year.

We believe parents belong here.

You know your child.

We know the performing arts.

And when we bring those two perspectives together, your child wins.

We don’t always have to agree.

But we should always be working toward the same thing: giving your child the best experience possible at EMC.

That’s what Families Are Partners means to us.

Because your family isn’t just enrolled here.

You’re part of this community.

Big news! We are thrilled to welcome powerhouse ballet teacher, Natasha Rhodes to our Teaching Team this season!

Natasha Rhodes has been dancing for over 35 years and received a BA in Dance and Arts Administration from Elon University. She is an ABT® Certified Teacher, Primary through Level 3 as well as Pilates Mat 1 and 2. While in North Carolina she created and implemented a ballet curriculum for a local studio and fell in love with the art of teaching.

Early training and performing credits include: Baltimore School for the Arts, Elmhurst Ballet School, UK, Baltimore Actors Theatre Conservatory, Peabody Preparatory and The American Academy of Ballet, Parsons Dance Company, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway.

For the past 16 years she has been the dance director at The St. Paul's Schools teaching both Middle and Upper School ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary. She founded the after-school Dance Conservatory and directed Inertia, TSPS’s elite curricular dance ensemble, while also choreographing the Upper School Musicals.

Who it's for: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced dancers

When it meets: Thursdays, 8:00-9:00, every other week.

At EMC, we don’t believe your child has to fit a certain mold to belong.

Maybe they dream of the spotlight.
Maybe they’re still finding their confidence.
Maybe they love performing.
Maybe they just love being with their friends.

There is a place for all of it.

Every Child, Every Voice means every student matters.
Every dream has a place. And we care about the person your child is becoming just as much as the artist they’re becoming.

Because when your child feels seen, valued, and encouraged, something pretty amazing happens.

They start believing in themselves.

And honestly?

That’s the kind of growth that lasts far beyond the dance studio. ❤️

Come see what EMC is all about and find your child’s place with us.

"I love dance, but I don't love to dance."

That one sentence stopped people mid-scroll when I first said it out loud — and it changed everything about how I see my work.

In my conversation on the Living the Red Life podcast, I talk about the moment I realized that my calling was never about performing. It was about pouring into others who do. About building the kind of discipline, tradition, and character that carries students far beyond the stage.

We dig into why the honor of ballet tradition matters more than ever in today's world, what it really means to love the process — and what I look for in the students who go on to do remarkable things.

Here’s the link to listen. I think it'll surprise you. 🎙️
