Giving pilots the best VFR into IMC training is what drove the ICARUS Device from the drawing board into the cockpit.
Before 2021 there was no option to train the scenario in the aircraft and the accident rate showed it.
"This is the way we've always done it" was common quip when we wondered why we hadn't improved on Jimmy Doolittle's hood in nine decades of instrument flight.
Stay tuned, we will soon be sharing a great success story and a syllabus to further the goal of giving pilots good training for bad weather!

When you some cheap plastic hood to "limit" your vision for simulated IMC, you exercise your make-believe skills, not your IFR skills.
All you get is a check in the box.
Throw on an ICARUS Smart View Limiting Device and you'll get good training for bad weather with realistic scenarios to simulate all of the challenges of flying in the clouds.

Modern cockpits are full of great technology to help pilots.
Moving maps, glass panels, GPS, and autopilots aren't just luxuries for airliners and fighter jets anymore.
These tools are tremendous in helping navigate and communicate BUT the pilot still needs to aviate!
That means both stick and rudder skills and interacting with the automation systems to keep the aircraft in the desired state.
For instrument training ditch your old hood or foggles and upgrade to an ICARUS Device!
