Only had 45 minutes to fish! Pulled this little 2lber out of a creek with the Berkley Fishing Slobberknocker w/ Googan Squad Bandito Bug trailer. Both in blue/black sparkle. Personal Best Largemouth of the season (so far). Check the comments for the vid!

I will definitely continue using my Yak for super skinny water...but man is it nice to have something with a motor for the bigger water đŸ˜… New (to me) 91' Tracker Tournament TX17. Got it out on the river today. Can't wait to get some fishing done with my fav (furry) gal.

What a fun fish! Just caught a 28" Gar on a B8Lab 90mm Ultimate Strike Shad from a random Mystery Tackle Box I got in 2020. Brought it out on a whim and almost left the net in the truck.

After a lonnnnng and rainy Memorial Day Weekend, I decided to go back to Ravenwood Park and do a little bank fishin'. I hooked into what was probably my all-time PB largemouth in the Ravenwood pond on a Monkey-Butt River2Sea USA Whopper Plopper 130. I thought I snagged a damn turtle til it surfaced...took me under a log, got free, left my $25 plopper...
Next day I drug the yak down to the pond, paddled over, got my lure back. Rigged it up, 2 casts in, hung up in a bush about 60' away. In my infinite wisdom, I yanked it out of the bush as hard as I could...and right into my leg. Lemme tell ya...them treble hooks don't mess around. Took me an hour to dig it out. 10/10 do not recommend. Make sure ya carry a REAL first aid kit and a sharp knife.

First time I got skunked this year. But as LAKEVIEW said... "ain't catchin' much, but we're throwin' em back". Sometimes a cold beer and long paddle on a hot day hits just right. And boy-howdy did I need a cold beer after my next day fishing...

The first part of May saw a lot of crappie action on the white/chartreuse Berkley Fishing Slobberknocker. Once I threw on a Googan Squad Bandito Bug trailer, it was a fish just about every cast.

The end of April was a lot slower than it started. Lots of flip-flopping weather. Last day of the month ended with a little Largemouth on the River2Sea USA Whopper Plopper 110. Also met this ol' boy snacking on a gar. For reference, he was 4' down and his shell was as big around as an XL Little Caesar's pizza.

Another Sunny April afternoon. Topwater started slowing down in my favorite spot, so I started working the Berkley Fishing Slobberknocker a little more and moving to some less pressured areas downriver. Fell into a mess of crappie over some rock beds. Once that slowed down I dropped in a little Coppertreuse Ned rig. So much fun to catch!

Fishing with my best buddy. This was his first time doing it 100% on his own! From putting his meal worms on, to casting, to taking the fish off. He landed 5 brim that day. I decided to give the Berkley Fishing Slobberknocker a try, and it did not disappoint. April was a good month for fishing!

Always mind the weather. Bright, sunny, beautiful April afternoon. 2 hours later a line of storms blew in. I pulled that smallmouth out and 5 minutes later the sky was BLACK. Had just enough time to get the yak dragged up into the woods before all hell broke loose. First smallie of the season on a River2Sea USA Whopper Plopper 110. Perch Color
