💜 Susan’s Mission is heading to the Dwight Harvest Days Parade! 💜

We are excited to be participating in the Dwight Harvest Days Parade on Sunday, September 20th!

We will not have a float — we’re walking the parade route together! We’d love to have our athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and supporters come out and walk with us. 💜

If you have a Susan’s Mission T-shirt, we encourage you to wear it! If not, throw on some purple and come join us!

🏊‍♀️ **Swim Season Parent Meeting** 🏊‍♂️

📅 **September 3rd**
⏰ **6:00 PM**
📍 **Westside Field 3 Parking Lot**
**2050 Dupont Avenue, Morris, IL**

This meeting is for parents of anyone considering participating in the upcoming swim season—whether your athlete has swum with us before or is thinking about joining us for the first time.

It is very important that you attend. Swimming is a long season and a big commitment for several reasons, and we will go over all the important details during the meeting.

We are still waiting for confirmation from the YMCA regarding how many swimmers we will be able to have on the team. Because space may be limited, there is a possibility that we will need to have a waiting list.

We look forward to seeing everyone on **September 3rd at 6:00 PM!** 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

🏀💜 COULD SUSAN’S MISSION HAVE THREE BASKETBALL TEAMS THIS YEAR? 💜🏀

There is a strong possibility, but we need your help to find out!

We are asking all past and current players, along with any new athletes interested in joining Susan’s Mission basketball, to complete our quick intent form by Sunday, August 30.

This is not an official registration and does not commit anyone to playing. New players will still be able to join after the deadline. However, completing the form now is extremely important because:

🏀 Teams begin contacting us in September to schedule games
🏀 We need to know whether to plan games for two teams or three
🏀 Gym time is already limited
🏀 Uniforms take time to order and prepare
🏀 We need enough coaches and volunteers for every team

The form only takes a few minutes, but it will make a huge difference in helping us prepare for the season!

Today was one of those moments we'll never forget. 💜

With just a couple hours' notice, our Susan's Mission family came together at Laki Hawaiian Ice to make signs, enjoy some sweet treats, and get ready to welcome home our very own Drew Kirkman after an incredible week at the USA Special Olympics Games! 🇺🇸🏊‍♂️

Watching Drew ride through his hometown of Morris on the fire engine with that huge smile on his face was something truly special. The excitement, the cheers, and the love from our community made this a memory we'll all cherish. I had tears in my eyes seeing it all unfold.

A huge thank you to Laki Hawaiian Ice for welcoming us in, letting us make our signs there, and giving us a place to gather before the parade. We truly appreciate your kindness and support!

And thank you to every single person who dropped what they were doing and came out to celebrate Drew. Your presence meant so much and showed exactly what the Susan's Mission family is all about.

Drew, we are beyond proud of you. Welcome home! 💜🏅
