Designed for dancers with and without disabilities, DanceAbility is an internationally recognized approach to inclusive dance. Through guided movement activities and improvisation, dancers get to:

• Get moving and improve coordination
• Practice decision-making skills
• Express themselves with confidence
• Create their own dance moves
• Connect with peers and build community

No dance experience needed—expect an active, fun class where dancers of all levels can participate in ways that work for them.

Last call for volunteer dancers! 💃

We’re holding our DanceAbility training tomorrow and would love to have you join us!

Our volunteers don’t need any dance experience — just a willingness to move, connect, and be part of our group. You’ll learn about Satellite Support, a DanceAbility practice that helps make sure every dancer has access to participating, communicating, and creating within the group.

Most importantly, you’ll dance with us! DanceAbility is about people of all abilities sharing the same dance space, making choices, creating together, and learning from one another.

So, what exactly is DanceAbility, and what do we do at The Dance Haven?

DanceAbility is an internationally recognized method of inclusive dance that uses improvisation and creative movement to bring people with and without disabilities together. It is based on the idea that every body can dance and that there is no one “right” way to move. DanceAbility gives dancers the freedom to explore movement, make choices, and dance in ways that are true to their own bodies.

Miss Megan has been teaching dance for 18 years, with formal study in dance and pedagogy. This June, Megan completed her DanceAbility Instructor Certification in Maine with Master DanceAbility Instructor Michaela Knox, becoming the first certified DanceAbility instructor in West Virginia.

The Dance Haven is dedicated to the DanceAbility Method. We offer classes for children and adults in Morgantown and hope to bring DanceAbility to more people throughout West Virginia.

DanceAbility Class Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to help support our DanceAbility class. All volunteers will receive a 1 hour training session.

The job is simple: we need people who are willing to jump in, dance with us, and support anyone who may need a little extra help during class.

No dance experience is necessary
