Most people know me from racing.
I've spent most of my life chasing speed—from go-karts to Legends cars, late models, and even getting the opportunity to compete in the ARCA Menards Series. But this week, the focus isn't on lap times or checkered flags.
This week is about family.
I'm on the 2026 Poverty Tour traveling Route 66 with some of the people who have been there through every step of my racing journey. My girlfriend is riding shotgun in our 1965 Ford Galaxie, my mom and dad are following along in their 1986 Ford F-150, and my brother and his girlfriend are cruising in a 1968 Ford Fairlane.
Three old Fords. Thousands of miles ahead.
Growing up around racing taught me to appreciate horsepower, but trips like this remind me that the best part of cars has always been the people they bring together. Whether we're making miles, making repairs, or just making fun of each other at the next gas stop, these are the moments that matter.
The race track will always be home, but this week the adventure is on the open road.
