Senior Day 💐 a great day celebrating our 2027 Seniors!! Thank you to everyone who came out to support and make this day memorable for the girls! Special thank you to Kahle Photography for taking photos of the girls and their families!!
Seniors words:
#15 Ari Mora, escorted by her parents Melissa and Jesse Mora. Ari has played for the Montrose High School Softball team for 4 years. Her junior and senior year, Ari has also served as the captain of the team. After graduation, Ari plans to attend an in-state college and receive her degree in nursing. Are wishes the following advice for her fellow teammates and any future player: "Don't let anyone or anything take the joy out of something you love because it will all go by fast so enjoy it and make the most of it." Ari's words of thanks are as follows "Thank you Mom and Dad for being my biggest supporters, and to my sister and nephew for being my loudest cheerleaders at each game. Thank you to my teammates for making each season enjoyable, especially Cheyenne, Lexi, McKenna, and Lilly squared. Lastly, thank you to all the coaches I’ve been under for rebuilding my confidence and pushing me through every hardship. Love every single one of you!"
#13 Cheyenne Whitcomb, escorted by her parents Jenna and Jason Whitcomb. Cheyenne has played for the Montrose High School Softball team for 4 years. While attending MHS she also participated in cheer, basketball, and lacrosse. After graduation, Cheyenne plans on attending a community college to pursue a degree in dental hygiene while also playing softball. Her words of advice to her fellow teammates and future players are as follows: "Always give 100% because if you don’t, you’ll never know what you’re truly capable of and how good you can become." Cheyenne's words of thanks are as follows: "To My Mom and Dad: Thank you for every sacrifice, every ride, every early morning, and every late night. Thank you for believing in me when I doubted myself and always reminding me to keep going. I wouldn’t be the person or player I am today without you. I love you more than words can say. To Coach Lilly, the Schiller’s and all of my teammates Thank you for believing in me, pushing me hard and loving me through my errors and hard days thank you for making every practice, game, laugh, and memory so special. I’m so grateful I got to share this journey with all of you. I’ll carry these memories with me forever."
#9 Izzy Mott, escorted by her parents Sheila and Eric Mott. Izzy has played for the Montrose High School Softball team for 4 years. While attending MHS she also participated in tennis and was named a softball captain this year. After graduation, Izzy plans to attend college, most likely in Utah or Colorado. She's still deciding where to go and what she wants to study, but her interests are in healthcare, dentistry, and cosmetology. She's also considering playing softball at the colligate level. Her words of advice to her fellow teammates and future players are as follows: "Enjoy it while you can, push your limits, and always believe in yourself. The hardest part about sports is the mental aspect. Believing you can do it is the foundation success." Izzy's words of thanks are as follows: "I’m so thankful for all my teammates, coaches, friends, and family who have supported me throughout my softball career and life in general. Whether it’s a daily Lexi hug, playing games with Marlow and Maya, a Zuri tea talk, or Lil M’s classic “you got something on your shirt,” I’m grateful for all of it. And yes, Cassidy, even you. Even when you’re hard on me, I know it’s out of love, and it’s helped me become the player I am today. I’m grateful for everything you, Samantha, and Lilly have done for me over the years. As for Bentley, I’ve been sitting here trying to think of what to say, and honestly, the only thing that comes to mind is that she needs to try harder. Sometimes I wish she cared a little more about softball."
#4 Maya Yacovetta, escorted by her mom Samantha Yacovetta. Maya has played for the Montrose High School Softball team for 4 years. While attending MHS she has also participated in 3 years of FBLA and held the position of social media officer and is currently the FBLA President. Maya has also played tennis for the past 3 years. After graduation, Maya plans to major in business with a focus on marketing. She hopes to attend her dream school, the University of Pennsylvania or CU Boulder. Her words of advice to her fellow teammates and future players are as follows: "My biggest piece of advice is to have fun and to enjoy the game. Get lost in the little things like trips and cheers and your teammates. Also, always be willing to help and give your absolute best. Life is too short to let yourself not give your all." Maya's words of thanks are as follows: "I remember joining freshman year, hardly knowing anyone, rarely talking. Thank you so much to my teammates that year and all the years after. All of you are what made softball fun and allowed me to be myself. I want to thank Coach Cassidy for believing in us and for giving amazing advice. Thank you to Coach Sam for your positivity and for improving the program. And finally thank you to Coach Lilly. We are the first freshman that have graduated with you, and I am so thankful for everything you've done for us through the good and bad. Finally, I want to say thank you to my mom, for always being there for me and for getting me into softball in the first place. Thank you!”
