We had an awesome parent meeting with the Lucedale family and players… I’m excited for that group, let have some fun!!!!

The Dreaded Mound Visit

Me: Hey Kid, wanna hear a joke?
kid: No Coach, No dad jokes old man!!
Me : Ok kiddo this won’t be corny, it’ll be funny
Umpire: Alright Coach , let play ball
Me : Hold on blue let me tell this Joke!!
Me: Did you know Jelly fish brush their teeth with Shrimp? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
All the Kids: 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐
Umpire: Jelly Fish have teeth???

Moral of the story is do anything but fuss at your player when they are having a rough game…

BTW it was so hot that day!!

So I’ve been getting some pointers from a few college recruiters and a coach, all from different teams including a women’s softball recruiter . They’ve all said the same things as far the reasons they will not give a prospect a 2nd look…

They had a whole list of things but I asked for 4 or 5.. Hope this helps where it’s needed!!

1) Laziness/ Pouting after a bad play, Strikeout, error etc.
2)Not running with your glove. Glove to the side while running shows laziness..
3) Looking at the parents after a foul ball or strike. Parents being over-bearing and coaching over the coach.
4) Not carrying your own equipment . This was one that they were adamant about.
5)Not being coachable. Won’t look the coach in the eye and always have something to say back when it’s not necessary.

Our coach had to step down because of a promotion at work!!! This is for Satsuma and surrounding areas..
