We sure are proud to see seven members of McT Football among those recognized! Congratulations, gentlemen — we can’t wait to cheer with the swarm this fall.

Not only did the Dirty Dozen - McT Volleyball ladies bring home a fourth consecutive state championship, they brought that same level of excellence to the classroom.

Earlier today, they were recognized with the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, a national honor presented to volleyball programs that maintain a year-long team GPA of at least 3.3.

Their commitment to excellence extends well beyond the court, reflecting the discipline, determination, and character that define a Yellow Jacket.

McT XC and Track & Field Coach Drew Bentley isn't just coaching champions—he's helping build one of Mobile's premier sporting events as co-founder of the Dauphin Street Vault.

This week, Coach Bentley and fellow co-founder, McGill-Toolen Catholic alumnus Matt Vogtner, appeared on local studio shows to share what fans can expect at next week's event.

It may be summer "break," but the grind doesn't stop for these ladies of Dirty Dozen - McT Volleyball.

Brielle, Olivia, Genevieve, Marley, and Avery competed at USA Volleyball's Girls Junior National Championship, proving that champions are built year-round.

As the Special Olympics USA Games come to a close, we were proud to see Yellow Jackets making an impact both on and off the field of competition.

Current Annunciation teacher Mrs. Rene McElroy, alumnus Vincent Dennis, and 2016 graduate Rebecca Kalifeh were all part of this incredible event. Rebecca serves as the Director of Inclusive Health for Special Olympics Louisiana, helping advance the organization's mission of empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports, health, and community.

As Catholics, we are called to love and serve others. The Special Olympics and the Yellow Jackets who support its mission remind us of the dignity, gifts, and God-given worth of every person. We are grateful for those who live out that calling by supporting, celebrating, and advocating for others.

Congratulations to McGill-Toolen Catholic alumnus Barry Dunning, Jr. '22 on signing an Exhibit 10 contract with the Portland Trail Blazers following the 2026 NBA Draft.

Barry's hard work, perseverance, and dedication have opened the door to an incredible opportunity as he begins the next chapter of his basketball career.
