The Grand Forks Huskies add a proven playmaker to the backcourt with the signing of Juan Carlos Canahuate Martinez. 🐺🏀

JC brings an impressive résumé spanning the collegiate, international, and professional levels.

During two seasons at Mayville State University, JC helped lead the team to a Conference Tournament Championship in his first year while finishing his Mayville State career with nearly 400 points and approximately 250 assists.

Before arriving in North Dakota, JC spent two seasons at Central Arizona College. Across his collegiate career, he surpassed 1,000 career points while establishing himself as an elite distributor, ranking among the top five players in the nation in total assists.

And his experience extends well beyond college basketball.

JC represented the Dominican Republic National Team at a young age and has since competed professionally for multiple teams in the Dominican Republic, giving the Huskies a guard with experience playing the game at several different levels.

Scorer. Facilitator. Veteran experience.

Now he’s bringing it all to Grand Forks.

The Grand Forks Huskies add experience, versatility, and another proven guard with the addition of Winder Joseph. 🐺

Winder’s basketball journey has taken him well beyond North Dakota. He began his college career playing JUCO basketball at West Hills College in California before making his way to Mayville State, bringing his game right here to North Dakota.

His pursuit of the game eventually took him overseas to Spain, where he competed in an invite-only placement showcase and earned an opportunity to sign professionally.

Now healthy and ready for another opportunity, Winder brings that experience to Grand Forks as a combo guard and becomes another important piece of the Huskies’ growing roster.

The Bismarck Capitalists are proud to introduce Austin James Laducer Sr. as their Head Coach!

Coach Laducer brings years of experience developing athletes through Bear’s Tail, North Dakota Attack, Bismarck Parks & Recreation, and United Tribes Technical College, where he served as a graduate assistant under Coach Pete Conway.

But for Coach Laducer, building a program goes beyond basketball.

His philosophy is centered around people, development, relationships, accountability, culture, and winning. As a proud Native American coach and father, he brings the values of community, respect, resilience, responsibility, and taking care of one another into the culture he plans to establish in Bismarck.

His standard is simple:

Whatever you have that day, give 100% of it.

The Capitalists will play together, communicate, hold each other accountable, and compete as one—regardless of where each player comes from or the story that brought them here.

On the court, expect an offense built around spacing, movement, cutting, screening, passing, and making the right read. Defensively, expect pressure, communication, toughness, and discipline.
