These presentations allow students to network and get a feel for potential companies or businesses they may have interest in. During spring, the regional conference and ChEn Car Competition are the main attractions. The U of M has had a strong showing at these conferences both with the Car Team's performance and through individual accomplishments. Of course there are numerous other events through the school year including local plant tours, pick up games of soccer and frisbee, volunteering opportunities (Mathcounts, Relay for Life, etc.), as well as social events. Lastly, AIChE in concert with Material Advantage (the corresponding student group for materials science students at the U of M), organize an end of the year banquet for students and family.
