I love using this drill to warm up the transition game to the net.

It helps fix some of the most common mistakes players make.

Focus on carrying your momentum through the approach shot, split step just before your opponent makes contact, then step through your volley and aim deep.

The hardest part is getting behind the ball early enough so you can move through the shot instead of stopping at contact. That's what allows you to transition to the net faster, more balanced, and in control.
