Congratulations to Sensei Maria Dimitrova on an Extraordinary Karate Career
It is with great pride and admiration that we congratulate Sensei Maria Dimitrova, Technical Director of Sh*tokai Dominicana, Chief Instructor of Dimitrova Karate, and Vice President of the Pan-American Sh*toryu Karatedo Federation, on the conclusion of an exceptional competitive career.
For more than two decades, Sensei Maria has remained among the leading kata athletes in Pan-American and international karate. Her record speaks for itself. Multiple Pan-American Championship titles, Central American and Caribbean Games gold medals, Pan-American Games medals, and outstanding achievements in both Individual Kata and Team Kata have established her as one of the most accomplished karate athletes of her generation.
Her journey is even more meaningful because she successfully balanced the highest level of competition with family life and motherhood. After stepping away from competition during the pregnancies of her two children, she returned again to the tatami and once more reached the highest level of the podium.
To conclude such a distinguished competitive journey with another gold medal in her home country of the Dominican Republic is a fitting final chapter to an extraordinary career.
Sensei Maria's contribution to karate will now continue through a new generation. Her knowledge, discipline, experience, and competitive spirit will guide the students and athletes she teaches. We look forward to seeing her produce future champions who will carry forward the technical excellence and values she has represented throughout her career.
