Should the Heat give Gabe Vincent another chance?? π€π₯π₯
With 2 roster spots left there is some chatter among insiders and fans whether or not Gabe Vincent may end up reuniting with his former team this offseason.
As an undrafted free agent coming out of UC Santa Barbara in 2018, Gabe Vincent signed a contract with the Stockton Kings before eventually making his NBA debut with the Miami Heat in 2020.
In the Heatβs NBA Finals run in 2023, Vincent became an every-game starter alongside Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and crew. In 22 starts, Vincent averaged 12.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists on 40.2/37.8/88.2 splits.
The Finals run was the final time Vincent would play for the Heat. In the 2023 offseason, he elected to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers on a three-year, $33 million deal.
In his four-year tenure with the Heat, Vincent averaged 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
After Miami Gabe has become a journeyman around the league maybe he can regain his superpower back in South Beach π€π₯π₯

Klay Thompson says playing for the Heat is a dream come true:
βIncredible history that Miami has created and I just really want to be apart of that. Iβve always loved playing here. Iβve always loved playing in Miami especially in the winter time. The weather is great, you go to the beach the day before, you get to jump in the ocean. To be able to live that life and be the best athlete I can be, itβs really a dream come trueβ
βMiami was always on my mindβ¦. They (Dallas) understood that I really wanted a chance to make a deep postseason run. Not saying they wonβt do that but I think Miami was way better positioned for that. I knew I always had a chance of ending up here. I canβt wait to put on Heat gear and get to work. What a great opportunity especially at this point in my career to play with so much greatness around meβ

With Klay Thompson officially signing with the Heat, expect that Nick Richards will now officially join the Heat soon ππ₯π₯
As reported earlier both Richards and the Heat have mutual interest so don't be surprised if Nick Richards will be signed next and be the Heat 14th player before training camp starts.
"What this means is the Heat can go forward with a Nick Richards signing (doesn't have to be fully guaranteed) and still either have open competition for 15th standard spot during camp or perhaps keep that open for use on a buyout player at any point. " Per -Ira Winderman

Pat Riley believes that adding veterans with championship experience is the key for Success ππ₯π₯π₯
As we see this offseason The Heat has no go All in by adding multiple veterans who have a championship experience.
βHeat president Pat Riley has long believed the teams with championship aspirations need older veterans around their core, players with the savviness, mettle and experience to thrive during harrowing postseason moments.
Thompson certainly fits that bill; his key role on four championship teams, combined with his still-exceptional distance shooting (heβs fourth all time in three pointers converted) made him the Heatβs first choice to fill out its perimeter rotation and help spread the floor around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.β

It is more than likely that Demar DeRozan will not end up in south beach , As Heat opt to wait on Klay Thompson instead ππ₯π₯
Miami Heat are saving the exception money for Klay Thompson instead of DeMar DeRozan, per Barry Jackson
βThe Heat has 12 players on standard deals; the 13th would go to Thompson if Dallas buys him out and he agrees to terms. The 14th could go to a center, with small forward Demar DeRozan and guard Gabe Vincent among others who have received consideration.
But DeRozan wants exception money, and the Heat is holding that for Klay Thompson.β
