Tiny Olives

She became Queen through her humble “yes” to God and because she is the mother of Jesus, our King.

So for the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, we wanted to make that beautiful truth a little more tangible.

We started by visiting our Blessed Mother and talking about how Mary is our Mother and the Queen of Heaven and Earth. 👑

And because Mary always leads us to Jesus… we spent a little time with Him in Adoration.

Exactly where Mary would want to lead us.

Then came the royal celebration.

We crowned Mary, invited the dolls to join us, set our little tea table, poured the fruit punch and raised our glasses to our Queen.

At three, she may not understand everything about the Queenship of Mary just yet.

But she understands celebrating someone we love.

She understands that Mary is special.
That Mary loves Jesus.
And that Mary always points us toward Him.

We make our faith something our kids can see, touch, experience and remember.

The deeper understanding will come.

For now, we’re planting the little seeds.

Hail, Holy Queen.

How are you celebrating the Queenship of Mary with your little ones?

The Immaculate Heart of Mary has become especially meaningful to me through my own journey as a mama, specially a heart mama. ♥️

There’s something about celebrating Mary’s heart that makes me think about the hearts of all mothers.

A mother’s heart loves deeply. It worries, hopes, prays, hurts, trusts, sacrifices, celebrates and keeps saying “yes” over and over again for her children.

Mary teaches us this.

Her heart was completely devoted to God and to her Son. She experienced immense joy, but she also knew sorrow, uncertainty and the pain of watching her child suffer and through it all, she remained faithful.

So while this month is about honoring Mary’s Immaculate Heart, for me, it has also become a quiet reminder of the beauty and strength God places in a mother’s heart.

As I build Mary’s heart piece by piece with Olivia, I’m reminded that God is still shaping our hearts too, teaching us to love, surrender, trust and keep saying “yes” to Him throughout this motherhood journey.

And that tiny heart we placed inside Mary’s heart? That’s ours. ♥️ A little reminder that we can place our hearts with all their love, worries, hopes and prayers in Mary’s care and ask her to always lead them closer to Jesus.

Mary, help us love our children fiercely, trust God completely, and always lead our little hearts closer to Jesus.

The Assumption of Mary, through the eyes of a 3-year-old.

When we first hung this mobile by the window, Olivia was in awe watching Mary ascend to heaven with the angels. She watched me place it with so much anticipation.

Now the craft hangs in our living room, and every time she walks by she says,
“Look! Mary is going to Heaven to be with Jesus!”

At this age, she may not understand the full meaning of the Assumption. She may not remember every word I read to her or every explanation I give.

But she remembers Mary going up.
She remembers Heaven.
She remembers Jesus.
She remembers the experience.

The crafts, the words, the stories, and the little moments we create around our faith are what begin to stay in her heart.

And as she grows, we’ll keep building on them, introducing more Scripture, deeper meaning, more questions and more of the beautiful richness of our Catholic faith.

But , little by little, the story will stay with them too.

The waves were big. Peter was afraid. But when he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus reached out His hand.

Such a big lesson for little hearts:

When I’m scared, I can look to Jesus.
When something feels too big, I can ask Jesus for help.
Jesus is always with me.

At this age, there are so many beautiful ways to bring Bible stories to life. Let them hear it, build it, touch it, play with it and sometimes… even eat it.

We pray they remember Jesus was there in the storm.

That’s what I love most, turning simple play into meaningful moments that help children discover who Jesus is, one activity at a time.

Some people see crafts.

We see conversations about Jesus.

We see tiny hands learning to pray.
We see faith taking root.
We see memories that will last long after the glue dries.
