It's exhausting work maintaining an internal compass while reminding yourself that in an evil world there are still blessings and beauty

There is a great pull for us to feel like we must always be perfecting the rough draft version that fills our minds.

It creates an overwhelming feeling that we aren't completely built and are somehow less for being "imperfect".

There is such freedom in giving everything over to faith and letting something bigger than you drive the car.

Trust the process and find joy in your life.

Blessings are everywhere even in the shadows where light shines even brighter when allowed to.

Especially when you are questioning the path, there is a quiet strength that upholds the goodness this world offers.

So Dance.
Sing.
Play music.
Laugh.

Inspire others to be their most whole and loving self so that when you need a beacon someone is ready to carry that torch for you.

It is not your job to manage the beliefs someone has about you or defend your way of life to anyone, because ultimately people will believe what supports their personal narrative.

The best road for a logical and balanced person to travel is to create a safe and stable home for themselves and those under their care while seeking moments of peaceful joy.

If you start to notice that goalposts keep moving with someone, it is pointless to keep managing their viewpoint of you, and it is better to just let things be.

You also come to realize that people, especially children, grow and develop an evolving perspective on situations, and they will discover new truths they didn't see before.

Therefore, it is important to operate authentically and do your best to choose consistency over changing methods to suit someone else's preferences if that means taking some insults on the chin.

Bottom line: people, but especially kids, should be able to pursue their passions without being made to feel like they are hurting or abandoning someone else.

Never hold yourself back because someone isn't willing to grow and evolve.

I'll die on that hill for you and for me.

I'll also gladly be the villain in someone's story if that's the price of being the person I'm meant to be in the lives of those who matter most.

Especially my kids.
