I know not all medical issues are 100% preventable, but by-in-large, they are very much so manageable and you can reduce your risk of those medical issues dramatically through behavior change (the earlier you start the better). There's nothing wrong with anyone that's going through any of the mentioned medical predicaments. I'm also sure they would tell you if they could have prevented that from happening, however, they would have. Not to mention, behavior change now when you do have a medical issue, can be managed greater.

Often, a very potent motivator is thinking about a future you don't want to happen to you. Always keep in mind the positive direction you're going and let that negative future be the thing that will kick you in the butt and make you do the change you don't want to when you need it to.

Pushing across the body allows for complete adduction of the humerus, which is the pec's main job. There will still be some tricep and anterior deltoid a tivatiin when pushing across the body instead of in front, but to a lesser degree.

A great advantage of practicing this pushing across method is feeling way more squeeze in your pec to facilitate a better mind muscle connection with you pec in general. This has heloed my clients realize they've been doing chest movements with their shoulder and tricep mainly.

First of all, people don't do split squats and they should. Unilateral training imposes some different demands on the body than bilateral training (2 legs at once) and it can make you stronger at bilateral exercises.

And secondly, when people do split squats, they're usually hip dominant. With bending of the back and shifting of the hips posteriorly and laterally, it makes them easier and only improves relative ranges of motion.

Try to keep your backs right and hips forward and see the immense difference that takes place. You will not be able to lift as much weight as you thought. Only go down as far as you can without your hips tilting laterally or posteriorly and progress that lightly.

The idea of this external rotation warm up is fine for purposes of external rotation muscle activation. However, the way it is carried out in most instances doesn't make any sense. I think people saw the standing version with bands and decided to do it with dumbbell, but that does not activate the extra rotation muscles as the band does. Since the resistance is horizontal with a band and not vertical, like with gravity when using a dumbbell.

You can definitely use a dumbbell. Just make sure to lean over so that the external rotation muscles are going against the vertical force of gravity- otherwise, your biceps are doing the work when you stand straight up with a 90° bend in the elbow. Try a shoulder wall slide to mix up your warm up if you haven't yet.

The re**us femoris is kinda tricky. The more hip extension, the more this one is activated compared to other quad muscles (a stretch is good for all muscles still). Leg extension tends to work medalis and vastus lateralis quad heads more- possibly because of the lack of hip extension.

This version allows you to place yourself in as much hip extension as you'd like... as long as you can get in and out of the cable. This muscle tends to be underactivated and concurrently is associated with more knee problems.

I've had many clients build strong abs without doing endless amounts of direct ab work. Just having the mindset of one superset of abs a few times a week can feel way less overwhelming and help you feel like you can tackle your workouts and direct ab work easier.

The catch is that you HAVE TO GO TO FAILURE (when you cannot move the weight amymore) back to back for this to be effective. One set to failure of the v ups with a weight where you can do about 15 to 20 reps (heavier is too hard to keep form during this one, lighter is just more reps until finally getting to the stimulating reps) then one set to failure with the crunches on the same weight. Doing that dropset of 2 exercises is probably good from 3 to 5 times per week. You can work obliques as well separately for a fully rounded weekly ab program.

Seated bicep curls are a great exercise, but as always, it could be better. And that's why I'm here. Often the seated bisep curl doesn't get you a whole lot of stretch at the bottom, which is very important for emphasizing the lengthened range of the muscle. That is important for both joint health and building greater strength and muscle mass.

Also, it's not designed exactly great for your shoulder and elbow angles to be rotated in the right position. So I find just to go with the most stable option is best. Which is with the elbows, slightly below the resting pad and turned in slightly.

I was supposed to have crippling knee pain for the rest of my life. But thanks to something like walking backwards, I can now do a lot more things than I should be able to. Walking backwards contributed significantly to that improvement. When you walk backwards, you use the opposite of the overworked chain, which is the posterior chain. And as you get deeper, you also make the knee and its components stronger as well as stretch and activate other muscles that are essential for healthy knee function like in the hips and ankle.

Way too in-depth plate loaded chest press breakdown. Covering physics isn't popular but that's not why I do it. It helps chest development to understand the strength curve of your pecs and how best to accommodate that.

The 2 tips I give here are an example of how to more closely match an exercise to your body's capability so you aren't losing out on strength and growth stimulating tension in the right ranges of an exercise. Physics is phun anyways

Best way to move the pain away from the joint and inflict good pain on the muscle, is by using this method. The method of... deliberate practice and focus with a weight you can actually ha dle right now- novel idea, I know. But, it really does make a difference, especially for the lateral deltoid.

We want muscle tension to induce growth and strength. We do not want inertia and comoensatory muscle overaactivation. This is often the gateway exercise that gets people to realize they should go lighter in order to focus and control more which will have greater muscular benefit for all exercises.
