Today, we look back and remember the Fabulous Jackie Fargo (June 26, 1930 - June 24, 2013) on his birthday.

In a world full of imitators, Jackie was the absolute blueprint. He didn't just walk the walk—he invented the strut. His electrifying charisma, incomparable showmanship, and rough-and-tumble spirit defined an entire era of professional wrestling, especially in Memphis, where he will forever reign as the undisputed King.

Beyond the blonde hair, the colorful style, and the legendary feuds, Jackie was a foundational pillar of the business who paved the way for generations of superstars to follow. He had a unique magic that could set an arena on fire and a loyalty to the fans that made him a true folk hero.

There will never be another like the Fabulous Jackie Fargo.

When the Bombers started taking control of the territory after their win at the Concession Stand Brawl, a battered Lawler called on his mentor, Jackie Fargo, to come help. Fargo was lured out of retirement and brought Roughhouse with him to even the odds.

Just weeks earlier, Jerry Lawler had severely broken his leg during a football game. He was expected to be out of action for nearly a year. Instead of showing loyalty to his friend, Hart brutally cut Lawler loose in this memorable interview.
