For Samuel Thery, Lighting Manager and Tour Technical Manager for Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, lighting should guide the audience’s attention, reveal emotion, and support the choreography without calling attention to itself.
Under Artistic Director and Choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot, the company now uses Elation’s complete Paragon platform across its European productions. A combination of 24 Paragon S, 28 Paragon M, and 14 Paragon LT fixtures provides the output, precision framing, color consistency, versatility, and quiet performance required for an extensive international touring schedule.
The platform also reflects close collaboration between Thery and Elation’s Global Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Eric Loader, to better address the specialized optical needs of dance productions.

German power metal legends Helloween brought their 40th Anniversary Tour to North America with a visually driven production supported by the power and versatility of Elation’s Paragon M.
Lighting designer Martin Müller used the award-winning LED profile to create movement, intensity bumps, gobo effects, rich color, and strong visual focus around the production’s extensive video content—all while keeping the musicians clearly visible onstage.
Supplied by Toucan Productions, the fixtures also delivered exceptional reliability throughout the month-long theater run. Helloween’s longtime North American Tour and Production Manager Frank Trzaskowski praised the Paragon M’s “massive punch,” while Toucan Productions CEO Chauncy Harris highlighted its versatility, durable construction, and compact form factor.

Lighting Designer Steven Young, Principal Designer and Director of Design at Visual Terrain, brought the wit, energy, and visual complexity of Mean Girls to life at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts using Elation’s Proteus Odeon, Paragon S, and Pulse Bar fixtures.

The Proteus Odeon fixtures delivered powerful, quiet performance and flexible color rendering, while the compact Paragon S provided precise side lighting from tight boom positions. Pulse Bar fixtures helped reinterpret one of the production’s most recognizable visual moments with a bold strobe effect across the stage.

Presented by McCoy Rigby Entertainment, founded by Tom McCoy and Cathy Rigby, the production also featured the work of Assistant Lighting Designer Madeline Miller, Master Electrician Melissa “Mo” Skau, Director and Choreographer Dana Solimando, Associate Director and Choreographer Rodrigo Varandas, Scenic Designer Stephen Gifford, Projection Designer David Murakami, and Costume Coordinator Adam Ramirez.

Denver, what a show!
We had an incredible time connecting with the local production community, sharing ideas, and getting hands-on with the latest Elation technology.
A standout of the day was seeing the quad-color chip featured in the PARAGON and REBEL families, including the PARAGON S, M, and LT as well as the Rebel Profile and Rebel Dartz. Across each fixture, the technology delivers a captivating split color effect that demands attention.
