Happy 5-Year Anniversary to Isabella “Izzy” Soares!

Over the past five years, Izzy’s creativity and talent have made a lasting impact on StormTrap and the way we bring our brand to life. But what makes Izzy truly special goes far beyond the work she creates. She is someone you can always count on, quick to jump in and help, calm under pressure, and constantly looking for ways to learn, grow, and make the next project even better than the last. Great designers make great work. Great teammates make the people around them better. Izzy is both. Izzy, thank you for the talent, care, curiosity, and positivity you’ve brought to our team over the past five years. We’re incredibly fortunate to have you, and I hope you know just how much you are valued.

Congratulations on five years, Izzy! We can’t wait to see what you create next.

A surface pond was transformed into an underground stormwater storage and treatment facility at Virginia State University in Ettrick, VA. The University wanted a solution that would free up surface area for future development while preserving the pond’s original benefits for water quality and quantity management. The new system now occupies less than half the footprint of the original pond.

StormTrap provided an 8’-4” DoubleTrap system, combined with a SiteSaver unit, to enhance pollutant removal and meet Virginia DEQ stormwater regulations for phosphorus reduction. Additional filtration measures were also incorporated. The 400-piece system is built on a stone base and can treat and store up to 190,535 cubic feet of stormwater.

Application: Detention and Treatment | Product used: 8'-4" DoubleTrap and SiteSaver | Total Water Stored: 190,535 cf | Number of Basins: 1 | Number of Pieces: 400 | Foundation: Stone | Owner: Virginia State University | Consulting Engineer: Timmons Group - Richmond | Installing Contractor: Dickerson Construction
