Comment CALM and I’ll send you the worksheet 🤍
If your brain won’t shut off, you can’t think your way out of a thought loop. But you can write your way through it.
It’s called expressive writing. You stop being tangled inside the thought and start seeing it from the outside.
A note: if you’re living with significant trauma, this can feel activating rather than calming. Turning attention inward isn’t always safe when your body hasn’t felt safe. That’s not you doing it wrong, it’s a sign this work goes best gradually, ideally alongside a trauma-informed therapist who can help you titrate the pace.

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
But what happens when you saw it… and stayed anyway?
If you’ve ever looked back and asked yourself why did I stay, or how did I miss the signs, this one is for you.
The truth is you didn’t ignore the red flags because you were weak, you ignored them because they felt familiar.
Because the hope kept you hooked.
Because somewhere along the way, you learned not to trust your own gut.
Understanding why is how you start to trust yourself again.

Facebook family! Thank you all so much for the love as I celebrate my one year in business 🤍
Just one year ago this was all a vision and a leap of faith and now my practice is growing…
I’m thrilled to announce my first hire, Cristina Curiel, LCSW, the newest member of Glow Coaching and Consulting!
For more information on Cristina see my previous post, and check out Glow’s website:
Home | Glow Coaching & Consulting Glow is a women-centered group practice in Los Angeles, created for women ready to bring awareness to the patterns that have kept them stuck, so they can become their most authentic selves: confident, whole, and at home in who they are.

A year ago, my practice was just me. Today, I get to introduce my first hire 🙌🏼
Meet Cristina Curiel, LCSW, the newest member of our team at Glow.
I first worked alongside Cristina in one of the hardest clinical settings there is: a community ER serving people in real crisis. I helped build and train that team, and she was one of the clinicians I trusted in those rooms. So bringing her onto Glow isn’t just a hire. It’s choosing, again, someone I’ve already watched show up for people at their most vulnerable.
In her words: she helps women of color “reconnect with who they are beneath all the expectations. To stop apologizing for taking up space, to trust themselves again, and to live from a place of authenticity rather than survival.”
She’s especially attuned to highly sensitive women, oldest daughters, and the ones who learned early how to hold a lot.
Grounded, warm, and collaborative, she draws on CBT and mindfulness to help women quiet the noise and build tools they can actually use.
In office and virtual. Now welcoming new clients.

If you would’ve told me 10 years ago I would be…
Celebrating my birthday in Spain 🇪🇸
Living in Los Angeles
Running my own business that I genuinely love
Feeling more confident and free than I’ve ever felt
Taking better care of my health now than I did in my 20s
Surrounded by so much love…from family and chosen family
I feel so incredibly grateful for this life. Sometimes I look around and can’t believe this is mine.
The last 10 years have been filled with so many ups and downs, life-changing moments…times I really didn’t think I’d be able to pick myself back up. When I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, it was always there, waiting for me on the other side of the pain.
Those challenges have molded me. They’ve given me the wisdom and grit to push forward and build this life I’m living now, and they’ve helped me grow as a human and become a better therapist.
Thank you, God, for healing, growth, expansion, and blessings far beyond anything I could’ve imagined. Through all of it…the highs, the lows, the quiet in-between, life is truly magical. ❤️

Knowing your non-negotiables is one thing.
Honoring them when love gets complicated is another.
Use these prompts to help you identify yours. Write as many or as few as feel true to you.
Save this and come back to it when life asks you to stand on business.🩶

I don’t usually comment on pop culture news, but given that my work is in this exact space, I couldn’t scroll past this one.
Meg spoke publicly about something I talk with my clients about every single day: knowing your non-negotiables and actually honoring them when love gets complicated.
That’s not easy. And it deserves a real conversation.
This carousel breaks down the psychology behind what she modeled, and what it can teach all of us.

This week we talked about why your brain goes straight to self-blame after a breakup.
Now we work through it…
These journal prompts are designed to help you release what was never yours to carry, grieve what actually happened, and come back to yourself.
Save this for your next journal session. 🤍

“If I had just done things differently, it would have worked out.”
If that thought has been on repeat since your breakup, this is for you.
Your brain would rather say “I caused this” than sit with the fact that some things were never in your control.
That’s not weakness. That’s attribution theory.

Journal prompts dropping Thursday. 🤍
