We've spent the last year working on wildfire recovery storytelling in LA, and it's some of the work we are most proud of.
The challenging part isn't just the first week. It's month six, month nine, and over a year later, when the news has moved on but people are still displaced, still fighting insurance companies, still figuring out what comes next. That's the part that doesn't get told, and that's where we've focused.
We've helped partners produce short-form video, social content, and community-centered messaging that keeps attention on what recovery actually looks like. Not just the loss, but the slow work of rebuilding. The mutual aid. The people who haven't given up on coming home.
Wildfire recovery isn't a one-time disaster story. It's about housing, climate, public health, and how communities take care of each other when systems don't.

When communities are under attack, the strategic question isn't just what to say. It's what to make people feel.
On October 4th, Miguel Santana, CEO of called our co-founder with an idea: a living mural, nightly projections of Angeleno faces on the California Community Foundation building in downtown LA, in direct response to the ICE raids hitting communities across the city.
The strategic instinct behind it was sound. Don't argue. Don't inform. Show belonging. Make it visible. Make it undeniable.
Born in June built the campaign around that instinct, creating and producing the fifteen-minute video loop, the website, and the social campaign, anchored by portraits from Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Barbara Davidson (). We went from concept to launch in one month, in partnership with

As Angelenos and Latines born and raised in LA, now raising our own family here, we are outraged by the escalation of targeted terror unleashed on our communities over the last few days. These attacks are not isolated. They are part of a long, violent legacy in this country of extracting our labor while denying our humanity, our belonging, and our right to live with dignity. We reject fear. We reject silence. And we recommit to the vision that led us to start our studio: to create work that uplifts the contributions of people like us. We proudly stand with our clients, collaborators, and community leaders who continue to fight back.
