8-4-18 💍 eight years married!

LOL I’m posting this a day early b/c Genesis is shockingly taking an epic nap, AND i want to put my phone away and be fully present tomorrow to drink you in. i love looking through some of my favorite moments together, and can’t wait for all the many many more to come.😍😍😍

every year i think i understand more about what it means to build a life with someone, and every year we find surprises and a deeper layer together.

you’ve supported every wild idea, every iteration of Body by Leslie, every adventure, every reinvention, every vision. you’ve always believed in me through all of it. and we make it through the hard stuff life throws at us hand in hand.❤️

we’ve walked through some of the most beautiful moments of our lives together, and some really gnarly ones. losing your dad and brother last year, and my dad this year has made me think even more about the kind of man i want beside me, and the kind of man i hoped would one day be the father of my children.

and then i see you with Genesis and it all makes even more sense.

the way you love her. the way you do all the voices with her puppets, make her plate so pretty, throw her upside down, and somehow make the whole world feel like one big playground.

i know what it means to be a daughter who gets to grow up with a really good man as her dad. and knowing that she gets that with you is one of the greatest gifts of my life.

i know one day she’ll look back at these years and know exactly how lucky she was to have a dad like you.

eight years, the creation of Genesis, approximately a million adventures, and still so much life ahead of us.

So happy I heard you come in and all you saw were the paints 🎨🖌️🫟💓🐠!!! Can’t wait to see your face at breakfast surprise in the AM, and the cutest art project Genesis poured her 19 month heart into for dada…..

Watching you with Genesis has been one of the biggest blessings of my life.

And one of the greatest gifts my dad ever gave me was showing me what a truly great father looks like.🥹

I always prayed for a father like my dad for my own family.

Turns out I got one.

And Dad, I know you’re smiling today.

Two weeks until Kauai with my favorite humans, continuing the tradition I always shared with my dad and family (yes, I’m counting down🩴👙🩳🌴🌺✨).
