How the Del Mar was born!

From a simple idea “Let’s put a shorter hanger on our classic surfskate system and see what happens” to our 10th anniversary special edition. That’s the story of the Del Mar.

We had to create a narrower board to fit the new system. We played around with different shapes, tested four options, put them through their paces, and kept tweaking until everything felt right.

The result? A flat and playful shape inspired by the early days of skateboarding, made to be ridden barefoot, paired with the 99 mm Meraki Narrow for a faster, more responsive and stable ride.

A lot of testing. A few questionable ideas. And one final Del Mar.

We designed a few fresh new models to take you through the last months of summer.

When we designed the Del Mar, the idea was simple: create a board beautiful enough to hang on the wall. The problem? We accidentally made it way too fun to ride.

On the Del Mar, the natural maple wood does all the talking. The 10 Years logo is laser engraved directly into the deck, while the flat shape and subtle tail rocker bring back the feeling of those first skateboards. The minimal grip tape stripes keep most of the wood exposed on the top, making it comfortable to ride barefoot while still providing all the grip you need. Underneath, the new 99mm Meraki Narrow system delivers a fast, playful and surprisingly stable ride that’s unlike anything else in the range.

Did you notice something different on the Del Mar? YES, it has a different truck, an updated version of our classic Meraki Surfskate System!

The Meraki Narrow is a refined version of our surfskate truck and unlike the original Meraki system that has a 159mm hanger, the Meraki Narrow features a 99mm hanger, designed to perfectly match compact and narrow board shapes.

It delivers the same smooth flow, powerful pump, and surf-inspired performance that define the Meraki, while offering quicker rail-to-rail transitions, more stability and greater responsiveness. All in all a more agile ride and incredible unique surf experience.

Ten years ago, we started with a simple idea: create boards that let you surf the streets, train for surfing out of the water, and have fun anywhere.

To celebrate this journey, we looked back to where it all began, to the first skateboards ever designed. Wooden flat decks, urethane wheels, and those early days when surfing the pavement was a completely new idea.

The result is this special 10 Years Anniversary Edition. A board inspired by that era, designed to capture the style, freedom and simplicity that shaped an entire culture for more than 50 years.
