You can know the lines, do the work, and still feel yourself pushing the scene instead of living it.
That is the problem AdlerImprov is built to solve.
I’m opening applications for fall AdlerImprov training:
CHICAGO — four Monday evenings, October 26–November 16. From $495.
LIVE ONLINE — four Tuesday evenings, October 27–November 17. From $395.
NYC INTENSIVE — October 24–25. From $395.
WINTER LOS ANGELES — December 12–13 planned; first notice is open.
We use games and playable adjustments to get your attention off yourself—so scripted work can stay creative, specific, responsive, and alive on stage and screen.
See dates, package options, and applications at the link in bio → Explore Fall AdlerImprov Training.
Enrollment for the August 15–16 LA AdlerImprov Intensive is now closed.
Fourteen actors. Seven scene partnerships. Two days of prepared work that stays alive, specific, and responsive on camera.
Thank you to everyone who enrolled, applied, referred an actor, or helped spread the word.

Great Acting Looks Improvised.
When the work matters, actors can quicken. That quickening can become tension—and tension can narrow the paths before us.
In AdlerImprov, “no urgency” is a reminder to stay available to more than one possibility.
That’s part of what we’ll train at the Los Angeles intensive, Aug 15–16.
20 actors. $495.

Great acting has to be highly prepared—and still look improvised.
The profession can ask an actor to do all the work of a drama-school or regional-theatre rehearsal process before a 48-hour self-tape. Then on set, your scene partner may be a famous actor—or a piece of tape. The entire world may be a green-screen soundstage that hasn’t been built yet.
This August 15–16, I’m bringing AdlerImprov to Los Angeles for a two-day on-camera intensive built around games for scripted scenes.
We’ll work with prepared scenes, theatre games for text, and camera work.
Limited to 20 actors. The cost is $495.

A lot of actors know the text.
The problem starts when they begin managing themselves while they perform it.
The take tightens.
The behavior flattens.
The camera starts catching effort instead of thought.
AdlerImprov is built for that exact moment.

This summer, I’m bringing AdlerImprov to three rooms:
NYC in June
Chautauqua in July
LA in August
A masterclass.
Three limited-enrollment workshops.
An intensive.
For professional actors who want more freedom under pressure — more play, more contact, more truthful, playable work on camera.
The work is serious.
The room is alive.
And yes, actors should get to have fun while doing rigorous craft.
Great acting looks improvised.
