"Keeping the punk and emo spirit alive. Legendary past, current scene and future bands. Rock

Pop-punk, hardcore, emo, screamo and post-hardcore… pure emotional chaos every damn day."

The bassist, the lyricist, the master of metaphor – Pete Wentz is another year older today!

As the creative engine behind Fall Out Boy, Pete turned teenage angst into art, turning phrases like “I’ve got a lot of friends who are stars, but some are just black holes” into anthems for a generation. His ability to balance sarcasm, heartbreak, and hope helped define pop‑punk for the 2000s and beyond.

Beyond the band, he’s built DCD2 Records (launching artists like Gym Class Heroes), written a graphic novel (Gray), and spoken openly about mental health proving that being vulnerable is punk as hell.

All Time Low have officially entered the snack game. The pop‑punk veterans teamed up with Nantucket Crisps to create their own signature “Bay Spice” chips a blend of classic Maryland seafood seasoning with a Nantucket coastal twist. It’s a crunchy tribute to the band’s Chesapeake roots.

Frontman Alex Gaskarth said: “When someone asks you if you want to create your own snack, you say yes. This is our spin on a Maryland staple.”

🥂 NOT THEIR FIRST FOOD VENTURE
Fans may remember their 2022 wine range, “Everything Is Wine.” Jumping from wine to crisps? Honestly, that feels very on brand for these guys. 🍷➡️🍟

🎸 CHARITY BENEFIT SHOW
To celebrate the launch, the band will play a special acoustic benefit show on June 7 at Cisco Brewers Nantucket. Proceeds go to the Fairwinds Center for Mental Health and the Nantucket Music Foundation. 🖤

📀 BIG YEAR FOR THE BAND

Directed by frequent collaborator Marc Webb (who also helmed “Helena” and “I’m Not Okay”), the clip shows the band performing inside a high school gymnasium. Cheerleaders wear gas masks and twirl batons, while a crowd of teenage fans pump their fists in unison before a full riot erupts and the band is “attacked without any regard for their safety.”

The video pays clear homage to Pink Floyd’s The Wall — right down to the scene of teens breaking through a padlocked door. It ends with a message supporting National Save, a youth violence prevention organization. 🙌

Nominated for Best Video at the 2008 NME Awards (lost to Arctic Monkeys’ “Teddy Picker”). Kerrang! ranked it the band’s 6th best music video, praising its “over‑the‑top yet captivating” nature. 🎥

Do you prefer the chaotic energy of “Teenagers” or the gothic drama of “Helena”?

On this day in 2007, Paramore released the lead single from their sophomore album, Riot!. And pop‑punk was never the same.

“Misery Business” was the band’s breakthrough hit, introducing Hayley Williams’ fiery vocals and sharp, confessional songwriting to a global audience. Inspired by a real life love triangle, the track became an anthem for anyone who ever felt wronged and unapologetically took a stand.

· 🏆 Certified 6× Platinum by the RIAA — over 6 million units sold

May 23, 2011. All Time Low dropped the lead single from Dirty Work and it was pure, unapologetic chaos.

“I Feel Like Dancin’” wasn’t just a pop‑punk banger; it was a satirical roast of everything wrong with the music business. Co‑written by Rivers Cuomo (Weezer), the song mocks focus groups, product placement, and soulless marketing gimmicks.

The music video, directed by Matthew Stawski, doubled down on the joke: the band sits down with a sleazy label exec (played by their actual manager) who forces them into cheesy stunts from Jersey Shore makeovers to Katy Perry style candy costumes. It’s a hilarious time capsule of early 2010s pop culture.

THE NUMBERS: 📈

· 🎤 Peaked at #13 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 (equivalent to #113)
· 🎸 Became a fan‑favorite and a live rarity
· 🇬🇧 The band flew to the UK to perform it on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge

Which spoof in the video made you laugh hardest the “Bad Romance” parody, the spray‑tan disaster, or the candy costumes? 🎤

It’s been 19 years since the iconic clip for The Offspring’s breakthrough hit landed on YouTube — and that snake still slithers through our memories.

“Come Out and Play” (also known as “Keep ’Em Separated”) was the first single from the band’s 1994 album Smash. The music video, directed by Darren Lavett, was uploaded on May 25, 2007 and became an instant punk‑rock time capsule: orange‑tinted garage jams, a live snake, and that unforgettable message about gang violence.

THE NUMBERS: 📈

· 🎤 #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart – the band’s breakthrough hit
· 🎸 #10 on Mainstream Rock Tracks
· 🎧 Over 460,000 views on YouTube (the 2008 remaster upload)
