The night before my FIRST 5K. 🏃🏾♂️🔥
Race expo ✅
Bib secured — #7005 ✅
First official race flat lay ✅
San Diego views with my wife ❤️
Gear ready. Fuel ready. Mind ready.
And apparently… a pre-race spa treatment. 😂🧖🏾♂️
Because nothing says elite athlete like compression sleeves, carb mix, running shoes and a moisturizing face mask. 😂
Tomorrow I line up for the America’s Finest City 5K.
A few months ago, I wasn’t training for races. I was trying to change my life.
Now I’m here.
My first starting line.
I’m not worried about being the fastest person out there. Tomorrow is about proving to myself that I showed up, did the work and made it to the start.
Good vibes. Fast times. First 5K.
Tomorrow morning…
GO GET IT. 🏃🏾♂️💨

First race flat lay. 🏃🏾♂️🔥🏁
Tomorrow morning, I line up for my FIRST OFFICIAL 5K.
It’s crazy seeing everything laid out like this because a few months ago, I was just trying to figure out how to become a runner.
Now I’m here in San Diego with my race gear ready, Bib 7005 waiting to be pinned on, and 3.1 miles between me and my first finish line.
Every piece in this picture represents something I’ve learned along the way — the shoes, the fuel, the hydration, the watch, the gear…and yes, even learning that runners apparently take pictures of all of it the night before. 😂
Shoutout to everyone tagged in the flat lay for being part of the journey to my first starting line. 🙌🏾
I’m not worried about being the fastest person out there tomorrow.
The goal is to show up.
Trust the training.
Enjoy the moment.
And FINISH what I started.
From overweight and trying to change my life…
to becoming a runner.
Tomorrow we GO GET IT. 💪🏾🔥

Overweight, and I’m running for my life.

This isn’t about chasing a finish line.
It’s about chasing more time.
A year ago, I couldn’t run upstairs without getting out of breath. One moment made me realize I wasn’t the husband, father, or man I wanted to be. That was the day I decided something had to change.
I’m running for my life.
I’m running to be here longer for my kids.
I’m running to be stronger for my wife.
I’m running to become the man I know I’m capable of being.
I was an athlete once. I chased goals, competed, and pushed myself. Somewhere along the way, I lost that version of me.
Now I’m building him back—one run at a time.
I’ve always done my best with a goal in front of me. Pressure doesn’t break me… it gives me purpose. Every race on this calendar is a checkpoint. Every mile is a promise to myself.
This isn’t about being fast.
It’s about refusing to quit.
If you’re fighting your own battle—whatever it is—I hope you’ll run, walk, lift, or simply take that first step with me.
Peace. Love. Be Dope.

Here’s a caption that fits your story, invites people into the journey, and ends with a clean set of hashtags for discoverability:
