Rivalry With a Purpose
The Loogootee Lions will host the Barr-Reeve Vikings on September 25 for a volleyball matchup with a purpose that extends beyond the court. During the match, the teams and communities will come together for “Rivalry With a Purpose” Night, a special evening centered on support, awareness, and community.
This night will show support for two special families, the Linda Nolan family and the Shirley Gerkin family. Proceeds from the event’s T-shirt sales will go directly to these families as the Loogootee and Barr-Reeve communities come together to surround them with encouragement and support.
The evening will also bring awareness to heart health in loving memory of Julie Diamond, mother of Loogootee volleyball player Alaina Diamond. Julie’s memory serves as an important reminder of the value of heart-health awareness, recognizing warning signs, and encouraging loved ones to take care of their hearts.
Rivalry With a Purpose T-shirts are available through Sunday, September 20, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Linda Nolan and Shirley Gerkin families. Supporters are encouraged to purchase a shirt and help fill the stands with red and pink for this meaningful night.
