🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️PINE TREE ALUMNI GAME RECAP 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

It was a great night of basketball as two generations of Pine Tree Pirates battled it out, but in the end, there could only be one winner.

Class of 1998–2012, coached by Frank Richards, defeated the Class of 2013–2025, 75–62, in a competitive alumni matchup Saturday evening.

Terrance Sparkman (Class of 2009) came out blazing for his team , scoring 13 of his 24 points in the first quarter to set the tone early.

2013-25 answered behind a strong performance from Dalvin Manns, who kept his team within striking distance while leading all scorers with 21 points.

But the veteran squad had too much firepower down the stretch. John Briscoe (Class of 2011) and Jamarcus Peters (Class of 2009) combined for 46 points, providing the offensive punch needed to secure the 75–62 victory.

A great night of basketball, competition, and Pirate pride. Most importantly, it was a chance to bring former players back home and celebrate the tradition of Pine Tree Basketball.

Joseph Richards — Class of 2000

Joseph Richards earned First Team All-District honors during his senior season in 1999–2000. As a junior, he helped lead the Pirates to the 1998–1999 Regional Quarterfinals and a District Championship. During his senior season, Richards helped the Pirates advance two rounds in the playoffs. He is also a member of the Pine Tree Basketball Ring of Honor.

Cam Spencer class of 2024

Cam Spencer was a standout basketball player at Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas, where his size, physicality, and ability to impact the game made him a difficult matchup on the court.

Standing at 6’5”, Spencer continued his basketball career at Dallas College Mountain View, where he made an immediate impact. During the 2023–24 season, he averaged 9.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, shooting 54.3% from the field while appearing in 18 games.

A strong rebounder and versatile frontcourt player, Spencer represents another Pine Tree Pirate who continued to compete beyond the high school level.

John Brisco -Class of 2011

John Brisco put together one of the most decorated careers in Pine Tree basketball history. During his sophomore season, he was named Newcomer of the Year and helped guide the Pirates to a District Championship.

As a junior, Brisco was named Offensive MVP of the Year and earned First Team All-District honors for the second time. He finished his Pine Tree career as the program's leader in assists and steals.

Brisco is also a member of the Pine Tree Basketball Ring of Honor. Following high school, he attended Northwestern State University and continued his basketball career, later playing basketball overseas.
