We support multi-sport kids, full stop.

In the fall and winter, baseball comes second (or third). If your son plays another sport, we want him playing it. No guilt, no conflict. Cross-training builds better athletes and keeps kids from burning out.

10U Baseball - Looking to Fill Our Final 3–4 Spots

We have a really good core group of players and families in place, and we’re looking for 3–4 more kids to help complete the team.

These aren’t just spots at the end of the roster. We’re looking for players who can step into meaningful roles, help us compete, and grow with the team.

We run our tryouts more like a practice than a traditional tryout. We want to see how your son moves, competes, listens, and interacts with the other kids, but we also want you to see how we coach. You’re learning about us, too.

For complete transparency, we expect the cost to be around $750 for the season before fundraising and sponsorships. We’ve already started working on both and have secured some support, so we anticipate costs being much lower than that.

Our current plan is:

• Fall and winter practices, with flexibility for kids playing other sports
• Access to indoor and outdoor facilities
• 2-3 fall tournaments
• More practice time and scrimmages in the spring instead of automatically committing to a league
• 7-9 spring and summer tournaments

We want to build a competitive team and put the kids in positions to succeed, but we also care about their confidence, their families, and making sure they continue to love baseball.

We’ll have a parent packet available at tryouts with more information about our coaches, philosophy, costs, schedule, and expectations.

Based in the Lee’s Summit/Eastern Jackson County area, the LS Yard Dawgs are an independent 10U baseball team coached by experienced coaches who understand how to teach the game, develop players, build confidence, and create a positive team culture.

We're looking for players who love the game and families who value development, teamwork, and a fun, competitive environment.
