A strong 4th place finish at the Mill. Austin struggled learning this place much of the day! A condensed schedule did not allow for the time needed to learn. Austin pulled out a top 5 qualifying effort, P3 in the heat put him on the pole for the A main. He led several laps through 3 cautions but eventually got moved on a restart and fell back to 7th. From there, he fought back to a solid 4th place finish! Great recovery on the final day of SRL! 3rd gen came home with some hardware for sure!

🏁 Racetrack Hangover Sunday 🏁

Racetrack Hangover Sunday is hitting a little different today!

Austin came out strong yesterday at Colorado National Speedway despite the weather fluctuations and an adjusted schedule. The #14 RMM/ThirdGen car was pretty quick in practice, and Austin qualified P3. After the pill draw, that put him P4 in the Fast Dash.

After an unfortunate on-track incident that Austin narrowly avoided, he restarted in 4th place, battled his way to the front and WON THE FAST DASH! 🏆

Then came the A Main…

With only 31 Legend Cars competing, the entire field started the A Main, as the field is not split when there are fewer than 32 cars. A track-determined invert placed Austin in 8th, but due to a lineup discrepancy, he ultimately started 10th out of 31.

The race was filled with multiple cautions, and there was no choose cone utilized this week. Restart after restart, Austin worked his way through the field, avoided the chaos, and eventually overtook the lead.

With the repeated cautions, the race was ultimately shortened and ended with a Green-White-Checkered finish.

Austin fired off with a great restart, claiming the lead and PULLED OFF ANOTHER WIN! 🏆🏆

But the night didn't end there…

After the races, the celebration was cut a little short when one of Austin's competitors submitted a formal protest to Colorado National Speedway regarding the legality of Austin's Legend Car body.

Track officials did their due diligence and thoroughly measured all aspects of Austin's car body.

The #14 was found to be completely LEGAL. ✅

We are incredibly proud of Austin for how he handled himself all weekend. He showed speed, patience, determination, racecraft, and the ability to stay focused when things around him got chaotic.

A HUGE thank you to the entire ThirdGen Colorado team for continuing to give Austin an incredible race car and an incredible program.

Thank you to our race track village, especially Mark & Calley, and as always, to our friends, family, sponsors, and Austin's amazing fans for continuing to support him throughout this season. ❤️🏁

And the biggest life lesson takeaway from the weekend…

Let the talkers talk. Let the haters hate.

While they're busy chattering, we're busy working.

The absolute best response to the noise is watching your child continue to rise, smash goals, overcome obstacles, and let their success do the talking.

Two wins. A legal race car. Another lesson learned.

We'll take that kind of Sunday hangover any day. 😎🏆
