Solid season running Route 66 Sprint Series this year.
Brady’s rookie season running KA 100 Senior & 206 Senior.
Last weekend we were at his home track Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America!!

KA 100 Senior
Qualified P4 out of 34 karts
Heat 1 P10
Heat 2 P6
Feature winner 🥇
Heat 1 Brady unfortunately made contact with another kart on the start & was completely spun around!! Fortunately no other kart made contact with him & by the time everyone made it by & Brady got rolling again he was dead last (34)!! He got to work with a damaged kart & fought his way back to 10th place.
Heat 2 started 10th & worked up to 4th place & on lap 1 made contact with a kart (racing incident) & slipped back to 11th. Worked hard for 14laps & finished P6.
Feature Brady would start 7th out of 34. Great start & worked his way to the front, battled back & forth with a few karts for the lead & finished strong for the victory!! ✌️ Championship points… Brady missed the championship by 28 points. Amazing season & hopefully this will only make him stronger!!

206 Senior
Qualified P7 out of 44 karts
Heat 1 P3
Heat 2 P2
Feature Winner 🥇
Heat 1 once Brady made it up to 3rd he was by himself with no drafting partner & could not catch the leaders.
Heat 2 ran lap for lap with the front group & got a solid 2nd.
Feature was another Epiq battle with the top 10 karts running nose to tail for most of the 18 lap feature. Brady would challenge himself & a few others as they exchanged the lead position a few times… but with 4 laps to go Brady was able to put himself back in the lead & one for the ages as the top 10 karts all battled hard for the victory! 🥇🏆🏎️
Championship points… solid look at it but missed it 68 points!! Solid 2nd place!! 🏆🫶💪

CKNA Summer Nationals

One of those weekends you wish you could have back to change things up but we did the best we could with the changing conditions on Saturday & Sunday.
A mix of rain & sun both days completely exhausted everyone & the entire Precision Performance Karting team was on hand for set up & quick changes!!
This was one of the most challenging weekends running 2 classes Brady has experienced in a long time!!

Senior light
44 karts total
Practice on Friday was perfect & Brady had pace for top 10
Happy hour was 6th
Just before qualifying we had to make a decision on wet set up or dry
We decided to go dry but had the wrong gearing
Qualified P15 not the worst
Now everyone was split into 2 groups (odd & even) for 2 heat races
Heat 1 started 8th finished 3rd
Heat 2 it had rained earlier & at the grid we had to make a decision… half the field had rain tires on & the other half had slicks!! We opted for rain tires & it was the wrong choice… started P3 & with the tire pressure & gearing Brady finished P16
After everyone raced their heat races… points were totaled & Brady started P12 for the feature.
As we sat on the grid to go out on track the rain started & we had 10 min to switch to full rain set up
Kart was set & he got a great jump… moved from 12th to 5th place after 5 laps & then the heavy downpour came & Brady lost viability & his shield fogged up. On lap 7 he looped it & by the time he got rolling again he found himself in the back half of the field & brought the kart into the scales!! No damage to kart or motor.

Senior Medium
47 karts total
Another great practice session on Friday
Happy hour found himself 7th fastest but unfortunately he hit the scale 1 lb light DQ
He would start the Qualifying session in the first group which as you go out the track gets faster
It had rained earlier but we went out on slicks
First lap was the first groups fastest lap as karts started to go off track & bring water & mud back onto the track
P3 after the first group on the first lap
The second group went out & no one went faster because of the conditions on the track (mud & water)
The 3 group finally began to turn faster laps & Brady ended up P19 for qualifying.

Groups split again
Heat 1 started P10 finished P4
Unfortunately with all of the delays we could not get in heat 2 for senior Medium & that would finish out Sunday morning after warm ups.
Heat 2 started P4 & ended up with the victory
Shortly after we cleared tech & scales we were notified of a 2 position blocking penalty to officially finish P3
Feature started P8
Again rain fell 2 races fore the feature 15 min delay for that class to switch to rain set up
The class before us rain rain tires & the tough decision to go rain or slicks had to made again… but we could see dry spots on the track & 10 min before race time we switched everything over to dry set up.
Feature the outside row got a great start with a great dry line to power through turns 1 & 2
Brady found himself in 4th & into the last set of turns had the lead but as he exited the last turn he lost grip!! The kart behind him had a different drive line & had a ton of grip but unfortunately drove over the top of his right side bending his axle & carburetor intake creating an air leak & his top end speed was down.
Lost the lead group & fought hard for 5th place but with 3 laps to go another kart drove into him & both spun out.
P14 was the official finish… not exactly how we pictured the weekend. We came out stronger & learned a lot!!
Hopefully this makes us better for the next race.

August 14 & 15 Brady will be doing double duty with Route 66 Sprint Series at his home track at Briggs & Stratton Motorplex at Road America

Strong weekend at Mill-Rite Raceway with Route 66 Sprint Series for round 3!

Brady played double duty running 2 classes
KA 100 senior & 206 Senior

KA Senior
Practice sessions looked good but as the track changed we made adjustments. The chassis, motor & driver looked good throughout the practice sessions & we felt good about the set up!!
Qualified P-4 out of 38 drivers
Heat 1 WINNER 🥇
Heat 2 WINNER 🥇
Feature started pole
18 lap feature Brady got a great start while competitors battled behind him he was able to get a big lead early… but didn’t make any mistakes & brought it home for a clean sweep!!
Winner Winner 🏆

206 senior
We had a fresh Lawson Speed Shop motor & it was a beast.
Qualified P-2 just missed the pole
Heat 1 P-2
Heat 2 P-2
Feature started Pole
Feature had a great start & lead a few laps but unfortunately on lap 7 he developed issues with the brakes but continued to push his kart until the end & finished P-13

Again this is his Rookie season as a senior
He finds himself in 2nd place in KA Senior 35 points behind the leader
& 3rd place in 206 senior
The final race of the series will be at Road America August 14-16

Early last week BSR got a call from Coyote Motorsports with a new customer Tom Olson in the Madison, WI area looking for a new Coyote Kid kart for his son TJ. We were happy to help them out but they had 1 request… was it possible to take delivery of the new kart & set it up so that his son TJ could race it Saturday at their home track.. Sugar River Raceway.
We were certainly up for the challenge & had the chassis shipped out asap… pu the kart on Thursday afternoon from the local Fed Ex terminal.
That night we started with the prep of the chassis
& had everything done! Friday afternoon the Olsen family met us at Road America to fit the driver in a seat & mount it. Purchase a new set of Vega reds from CKNA (no one else in the area had tires) & mount those.
Mount the motor & button up everything else on the kart so it was turn key & ready for Saturday.
Everything was done that evening & the family was extremely excited for Saturday’s race with a brand new kart!! But unfortunately the weather was not in their favor & the track canceled the race because of rain in the area.
Sunday morning we received a text from the family asking if they could race at Badger Kart Club which they had never been to before!! But they had the wrong tires & the wrong gear for kid kart to run per Badger rules. We put out a FB message asking any club members if they could help out Olsen family with a set of tires & mount those on their rims. Many many club members reached out with tires & willing to change their tires. But one club member Dan Fish did one better and had a set of tires mounted & ready to go for the Olsen family.
The next day we received a message from Tom stating his son was extremely nervous about racing at Badger & was not comfortable. But the family got him out on the track & TJ came off the track and told his parents

Quote “yeah we’re definitely racing here! This is the most fun I’ve ever had in the whole world!” Haha!!!

Then he spent the next two races just straight up passing kids left and right. By the feature, he went from 11th at the green flag to a photo finish for 5th.

Congratulations on Badger kart club members for helping this amazing family out… I think they plan on sticking around for a while & what a great opportunity!!
Proud to call Badger Kart Club family!! 🙌💪🥳🫶❤️
