There have been a lot of changes, and yet some things have stayed steady, stable, and certain.

It’s important when we are going through significant changes and transitions to determine the non-negotiable: what you will bring forward with you into that new space whether it’s a different zip code, leadership role, or different job or season in life.

Here’s what is changing for me:

Where I do the work, where my workplace is located.

The work itself has expanded and therefore changed.

How and when I do my work is shifting to better match and align to what I want my personal life to look and feel like in this new space.

Here’s what hasn’t changed:

The Mission [why I’m doing this work]
To create environments and experiences, rooted in strategic resilience that transforms how we lead, live, and love.

This mission matters because the experience of exhaustion, burnout and depletion is sabotaging the capacity, clarity, confidence and connection needed to face changes, challenges, and conflict in ways that nurture resilience from the inside out.

The mission has stayed steady, stable, and certain while other things have needed to shift and even be released.

If you are experiencing change, there are strategies to guide you through in ways that don’t create unnecessary exhaustion and overwhelm.

That can provide the clarity and confidence to determine what stays the same and what shifts.

There’s been a necessary pause on how much I’ve engaged with social platforms the past six months or so.

A pause to intentionally place energy towards family, clients, and a HUGE transition of changing the zip code we call home AND transitioning both Kevin’s therapy practice and my coaching/ consulting practice with us.

An intentional pursuit of placing energy towards maintaining and serving current clients well [even virtual speaking, consulting and coaching from our camper🤪] and beginning to invite new clients we haven’t yet met.

A pause to reflect deeply on what work will be expanded and what might be let go.

A pause to listen to my body and the unhealthy ways it’s been holding stress on the unknowns and detours during the transition.

The fear of stepping back, decreasing or eliminating engagement for small business owners is real.

And I have no regrets.

Because of the pause, I’m positioned much stronger, more focused and energized on what is emerging as a professional coach, consultant and facilitator.

And I’m excited for what that means for my current clients and the clients I’ve yet to meet!

Stay tuned!

PS If we haven’t met and you are curious about coaching with me to emerge greater clarity, confidence, and direction in a change, challenge or decision you need to make, let’s connect!

This week in both individual and team coaching settings there was a theme.

Exhaustion due to lack of clarity.

Lack of clear roles.

Lack of clear expectations.

Lack of clear time frames.

Lack of direction.

And in some cases, lack of safety in asking questions about any of the above.

And all of these are preventable but often ignored costing companies through disengagement, burnout, turnover, unnecessary conflict, stress from instability and confusion in the workplace.

The discoveries this week on what is fueling the experience from the employees perspective was hurry, pressure for production, efficiency…fear.

The cost is high. I saw it in the eyes of many of my clients: the cost on their own well-being and honesty the possible cost for the organizations that are ignoring their requests for clarity on how to do their job.

It sounds crazy when you say it out loud: 📣that a leader would ignore or dismissing a person’s request to clarify expectations on how to do their job or clarity on their role so they could do their job with greater effectiveness and confidence…
and yet that is a cultural norm in many organizations.

I help with identifying those hidden norms that are sabotaging both the human and business sustainability. That subtly but surely eat away resilience from the inside out.

Clarity is kind.

Ask those you influence if there are areas they need clarity and then partner with them to emerge it.

Excited to share that my husband Kevin is moving into full-time with his therapy practice! I'm grateful we able to be steel sharpening steel in our practices. Our clients are better for that sharpening.

I’ve seen firsthand how his patience, compassion and calm presence can transform how a person experiences, processes and walks into a restored sense of being.

He’s real, relatable and a person of high integrity.

Grateful to watch how his calling expands to impact others for good!

Please share with friends, family or networks!

This is worth a repost as it continues to be a great metaphor for me as a professional coach and for my husband, who is a licensed psychologist.

We have had many conversations on the importance of differentiating the roles for clients and for those trying to determine is it a therapist or a coach that could best help them reach their desired outcomes?

Many of my clients have or are seeing a therapist and are looking to add a greater level of forward action that can come out of coaching.

I also have clients who have seen a therapist to work through trauma and deeper challenges that are beyond the scope of a professional coach. [this is essential that the coach understands their scope of practice and for that I am very grateful for the International Coaching Federation and their work to advocate, educate, and provide ethical training].

Another common pathway is clients who have done work with a therapist and are referred to me or decide to engage in coaching with me because now after the therapy, they have the bandwidth, the capacity and greater clarity to truly envision what they want more of in their life.

It doesn’t always have to be this or that! They both have there place and unique offering.

Want to have a conversation if you are curious about coaching and how it can even compliment therapy? Let’s connect!

To those who have sat in this chair [in person or virtually] I want to express my gratitude.

You have challenged me to dig deeper and continually pursue learning in coaching and credibility for the field of professional coaching.

Anyone can call themselves a coach.

That can lead to misrepresentation of what coaching is, how clients are viewed, invited, and partnered with.

This week is International Coaching Week.

I have been influenced, encouraged, challenged and trained by people from around the world. My experience truly has been international.

I’m celebrating those who I have had the privilege to partner with in coaching whether it is an individual sessions or in a team coaching format!

I’m celebrating those who might be ready to check out a coaching conversation to explore personal or professional challenges, opportunities, or decisions that are in front of you.

I’m also celebrating a next level credential achievement after passing a rigorous exam and countless hours of coaching and mentoring!

So many people to thank as I continue to grow and nurture my coaching practice for individuals, teams, and coming soon women’s coaching circles.

I use visuals and multiple different tools to engage clients in creating conversations, emerging ideas and even emotion around setting goals in both team coaching and individual coaching with clients.

This is one example of how making connection in deeper ways when setting goals can be a powerful fuel source when the work gets hard.

A newly appointed leader in manufacturing shared this image of his desired outcome during our team coaching sessions.

He shared that he wants to see chains broken. That he has a perspective from working entry-level to his current position where he observed too many people working in ways that don’t unleash their strengths.

That he himself still feels bound by insecurities that he wants to breakthrough. He wants to do the work so that he can show up in a way that helps others that he influences to not be hindered by lack of confidence or courage.

We took the the time to connect the goal to the companies, mission vision, and values. To assure the alignment. So as he moves forward with his goal, he will activate why the company has its doors open.

And here’s a deeper connection that often is dismissed…

We took time to connect the goals that we set even at work to a soul purpose, where it can do the transformational work in ways that not any program can accomplish.

Connecting our goals to how it influences the people that we encounter each day and how they go home to their families.

Goals aren’t just about statistics and numbers. They are also about transformation if we take the time to make the connections.

The needs and desires of the workforce don’t discriminate with age, position, or years of experience.

These high school students a few months ago stated what I heard in a coaching session yesterday with an employee who was close to completing 34 years with the same organization.

Clear, kind, consistent, and courageous communication isn’t a nice have, it forecasts what engagement, retention and innovation will look like for your team and organization.

I’m pretty sure those high school students won’t stick around for 34 years with leadership that doesn’t offer that type of leadership and relationship.

This is about future proofing, sustainability both business and the people who keep the doors open.

This is the transformational work I partner with clients on. With individuals, teams, or whole organizations, it takes awareness and strategy at each level.

It’s the inward shifts and successes, that can change who says yes to your team and who stays at the table, contributing in ways that elevate and activate your mission vision and values.

Let’s talk if you want to move towards greater resilience and less regret when it comes to the work experience and environment!
