Talk about an incredible homecoming! Today, our student athletes Knoxville Track Club Knoxville Youth Athletics had the absolute privilege of hearing from one of Knoxville’s finest, Amanda Martin, as she returned to where it all began to share some incredible wisdom with the next generation of runners. 🏃♀️💨
Amanda’s journey is the ultimate blueprint for dedication, passion, and local pride:
The Early Days: Shined as a Farragut High School Farragut HS Cross Country and Track and Field All-Metro athlete and grew through the KYA/KTC student-athlete programs.
The College & Global Chapters: Ran for Emory University before taking her talents global, studying abroad in both Israel and France! 🌍
The Hometown Hero: Returned to coach at KYA while continuing her local training—dominating the local racing scene and becoming a 3-time Knoxville Half Marathon Champion! 🏆 Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon
The Next Level: After earning her degree, Amanda shifted into high gear. Just 8 weeks ago, she took first place at the Eugene Marathon! 🥇
The Future: She is currently training with pro athletes in Park City, Utah, and is officially headed to the 2028 Olympic Marathon Trials in St. Louis! 🇺🇸 USATF
Amanda, thank you so much for coming home to your roots and giving back to our future generations. Your advice, experience, and journey show these young athletes that with hard work, the sky is the limit. We are all rooting for you on the road to 2028! 🐐
