As I prepare for the final fall season with our 18U crew, it’s hard not to get a little overwhelmed.

We’ve shared the field as teammates and opponents, some for a couple years and some for nearly 10. A lot of baseball, laughs, memories, and even a few tears.

Something tells me this group is going to make this our best year yet. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead.

Now, back to game prep for tomorrow…

In the team’s second game tonight, Robby stepped to the plate and launched a solo home run deep over the left-center field fence!

Robby continues to put in the work both on and off the field, and tonight he got to showcase exactly what that work looks like when it pays off.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS — SENIOR NIGHT

Bobby Rodriguez had a Senior Night to remember! The Coal City High School senior came up big, finishing the night with 2 touchdowns and an interception. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Senior Night! 🏈

Bobby is entering Year 4 with our program, and he’s been a tremendous part of our team. Primarily a catcher and outfielder, Bobby brings speed, athleticism, a strong bat, and quick hands every time he steps on the field.

You’ve got a bright future ahead of you, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve accomplished—and everything we know you’ll continue to accomplish.

Tonight, our 15U opened the fall season with a scrimmage against ESP Select 15U American — and with it came a whole lot of excitement.

For the boys, coaches, and families, tonight marked the beginning of a new chapter. The dugout and the stands were filled with blue, and for the first time, we were all officially Prison City Blues.

Tonight was about firsts.

The first time these boys shared the field.
The first time they cheered each other on.
The first time they picked each other up.
The first time they put on the Prison City Blues.

The result didn’t go our way, but tonight was never just about the scoreboard. Expectations were set. Lessons were learned. Adjustments were identified. And now we head into our first tournament knowing exactly what needs to be done.

Most importantly, we learned something bigger tonight: we can — and we will — succeed as one family.

This is just the beginning.

We are Prison City. Now it’s time to work.
