The Julian Scott House Task Force will meet at the Johnson Municipal building on Wednesday September 16th, 2026, at 7:00 o’clock p.m. and conduct the following business

Agenda

1. Changes, additions, deletions to agenda.
2. Opportunity for Public Comment
3. Review and approval of minutes.
4. Review of work to date, including reports generated, correspondence, reports of members activities, etc.
5. Fund raising efforts?
6. Identify and focus on additional work needed to complete tasks. Review Task Force members “homework” ideas for uses, partnerships, etc.

Task Force Tasks:
• Conduct research into the building’s condition, history, and potential uses.
• Investigate the FEMA process which led to the Julian Scott House being approved for the standard homeowner buyout program. If warranted, based on said investigation, recommend that the Selectboard request that FEMA and the State take appropriate corrective action.
• Identify any and all funding sources, including but not limited to grants, tax credits, donations, state or federal funds, and partnerships.
• Evaluate the feasibility, costs, and benefits of all viable alternatives.
• Engage the public and solicit community input.
• Provide regular interim updates to the Selectboard.
Deliver a written report with recommendations no later than 16 Nov 2026

7. Identify additional resources (people, organizations, potential partners, state or federal agencies) which might be useful to achieve tasks.

8. Conduct any other business of the Task Force

9. Set next meeting date.

A wonderful evening of celebrating dedication and service at last night’s VMCTA Award Ceremony! 🏆💐

Longtime retired Town Clerk Rosemary Audibert was honored with a well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing her many years of dedicated service.

We also celebrated newly appointed Town Clerk Susan Tinker, who received her Certified Vermont Clerk Certification.
