The Jags host the Cleveland Browns in their season opener game.

Last night at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, Spring Valley High School was presented with a brand-new traveling trophy from Facing Hunger Foodbank and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On July 25th, those two organizations partnered with football teams from Cabell Midland, Huntington, and Spring Valley for a morning of competition and community service. Together they packed food boxes for families served by Facing Hunger throughout West Virginia.

This year the event became an annual competition, with teams earning points for accuracy, teamwork, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

With an impressive 330 points, the Spring Valley High School Timberwolves were named this year’s champions.

Our team will proudly keep the trophy for the next year and return it to Facing Hunger Foodbank for next summer’s competition.

Congratulations to our Timberwolves and thank you to Facing Hunger Foodbank and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their continued commitment to our communities. 💙🐺
