The National Youth Cricket Tournament (NYCT) is designed to inspire young athletes, create lasting memories, and strengthen the bonds within our cricket community. Held over Thanksgiving weekend, the tournament also serves as an opportunity to recognize and thank the administrators, coaches, parents, volunteers, and sponsors whose dedication continues to advance the game across the country despite ongoing challenges. Our vision for this year’s event is to build on past successes and deliver an experience that is even more impactful, memorable, and rewarding for players, coaches, families, and supporters alike.

National Youth Cricket Tournament - Houston

We regret to inform you that Harris County Precinct 4 has decided to cancel the Asian American Pacific Islander Month celebration scheduled at John Paul Landing Park on May 9th, due to ongoing rain forecasts leading up to and on the date of the event. We sincerely thank all our volunteers for their dedication in preparing for the event. We look forward to hosting and participating in similar events in the future.

Announcement from Harris County, Precinct 4.

Due to Friday's severe weather and the field/pitch conditions it will cause, we are unable to move forward with the event scheduled for this Saturday morning. Please note, the event is being rescheduled to next Saturday, May 9, 2026. Fortunately, the time, location, and activities remain largely the same. Please see a reminder of the event details below:

Harris County Commissioner Precinct 4, in partnership with the Triggers Cricket Consortium, extends a formal invitation to the 2nd Annual Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month Celebration. This event is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the John Paul Landing Cricket Grounds, located at 24502 West Rd, Cypress, TX 77433.

A variety of activities suitable for all ages will be available. Attendees are invited to explore cricket, one of the world’s most popular sports. In collaboration with Harris County, the Triggers Cricket Consortium (TCC) will:

• Organize youth cricket matches across multiple age groups, including participation from two teams traveling from Austin, TX.

• Present a youth cricket clinic featuring four interactive stations focused on introducing cricket equipment, fielding techniques, bowling skills, and batting fundamentals. The clinic welcomes participants aged 6 to 15 years. Registration may be completed by scanning the QR code or visiting wkf.ms/48uMQUC.

• Offer complimentary pizza to all registered cricket clinic participants.

• Provide volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in supporting event operations.

We anticipate a successful event marked by strong community engagement and ongoing efforts to promote cricket within Precinct 4. The Triggers Cricket Consortium expresses its appreciation to Harris County Commissioner Precinct 4 for their continued support.
