Well yesterday's practice on the Angelina River was cancelled due to weather. 😭

Will be making another trip to the Angelina River on Thursday. Want to see if we can locate some other areas like we found on Sunday to see if they are also holding fish. Got my fingers crossed this is a good pattern and that we didn't just get lucky Sunday. By the way the Bayou Bassin League Championship Launch and Weigh-in will be a Bevilport one of the public ramps on the river.

How did practice go today? Check out my poor thumb. I haven't had "Bass Thumb" this bad in a very long time. We found them stacked up on a spot and they were hungry! Lots of good fish too so we are happy campers.

Nope not an ad for Wally World LOL. On my way to the Angelina River and I'm ahead of schedule this morning. Waiting for my partner for today and we'll be heading out. Want to check out a spot Ray and I found late Saturday. As have some awesome looking baits from Nicknak’s Custom Baits I want to how those river bass react to.

Been working on some new Jig Patterns and here is one I really like. What do y'all think about it?

One thing about the Angelina River is it has all kinds of areas to explore for bass. You can't really try them all in a day or a weekend so that is why Ray and I have started practicing so early for the Bayou Bassin League Championship which will be held on Sept. 12th and 13th. Yes yesterday was a tough bite but we learned some things and found some areas that will the right presentation we could still put a limit of bass in the boat. We still have more time to get our game plan put together so well will be making a few more trips there. The area pictured is off the main river and looks a lot some other places we fish. The water though is somewhat stained a lot more than the pretty green water of the main river.

Tough bite today but we were able to put a limit in the boat. Ray put the best one in the boat today.

I generally don't talk about the baits, colors or rigs I'm using practicing before a tournament. However I will give Creme Lure Co. a shout out without saying the exact bait and colors I've been using. I will say most of the bigger fish caught during practice have come on a Creme bait.

Well we caught a bunch of bass again on the Angelina River, but the pic from my Bubba shows our best 5. We were under 10lbs today, but we did lose a couple that would have changed that. That's OK for practice but it won't be OK for the tournament. Story of the day was we returned to a tree where I had one get me caught up and ended up breaking my leader on a spinning setup. Well guess what I got the same bass to hit again but on my big worm rod and I yanked his butt out of the tree. He still had my lure and leader in his mount. Don't believe, just ask Ray.
