Wrestling season has come to an end, marking a historic first year for Hominy Wrestling. As a brand-new program, we embraced the challenges that come with building something from the ground up. We had fun, we worked hard, we made mistakes, and most importantly, we learned. As with any first-year program, there were inevitable growing pains, but each obstacle provided an opportunity to improve and grow stronger together.

We are incredibly proud of our five high school wrestlers who committed themselves to the season and put in the work day after day. Their dedication, perseverance, and resilience laid the foundation for this program’s future. They will always hold a special place in Hominy history as the first five athletes to ever compete under Hominy High School Wrestling. That legacy cannot be taken away. We hope each of them understands how much they mean to our coaching staff and that they continue striving to become stronger and better—both in athletics and in life.

A special recognition goes to our senior, TJ Piearcy. TJ stepped completely outside of his comfort zone, having never wrestled a day in his life before this season. Yet he showed up to every practice eager to learn and improve. When tournaments didn’t go his way, he immediately sought feedback and asked how he could get better. That mindset is what sets him apart. TJ is a force to be reckoned with, and with the determination and heart he possesses, there is no doubt he will find success in whatever path he chooses.

Thank you, TJ, for an outstanding season and for helping set the standard for what Hominy Wrestling represents.
