Miss International Hawaii

Miss International Hawaii The Official Hawai`i Preliminary to the Miss International Beauty Pageant in Tokyo, Japan. Pageant celebrating cultural ambassadors & community impact globally.

We crown two queens: & Updated as of March 2023

About Miss International Hawaii and Miss International:

Miss International Hawaii has been an interview-only pageant and it was previously known as Miss Hawaii International. Under new directors, the pageant is now recognized as Miss International Hawaii, an international pageant. Co-directors Meghan Akim and Courtney Coleman will bring the pageant live featuring four phases: cultural costume, swimsuit, evening gown, and the on-stage interview. The top 2 delegates competing for Miss International Hawaii will have exciting opportunities to compete for Miss International and Miss US International. Established in 1960, the Miss International Pageant is one of the “Big Four” international beauty pageants (Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Earth, and Miss International). It is also considered the fourth largest pageant in the world because of the significant number of international titleholders participating in the contest. Over 60+ participants globally will be in the running, but the titleholder from Hawai'i is always a strong competitor because of the deep connections between the Aloha State and Japan.

Miss International Hawaiʻi is more than a pageant. It is a platform that creates opportunities, builds confidence, and touches the lives of women and communities across Hawaiʻi.

At the heart of our organization is sisterhood. We believe in supporting one another, celebrating each other’s journeys, and creating lifelong friendships along the way. Because while only two women may wear the Miss International Hawaii and Miss Hawaii US International crown, the impact of pageantry reaches far beyond the stage. 👑

In this video, hear from our Director, Meghan Akim Meg Akim, and our queens, Emily Smith Emily Smith and Ivy Chen IVY, as they share their experiences with pageantry and the many ways this journey has shaped their lives.

We hope this gives you a glimpse into what Miss International Hawaiʻi is truly about: women empowering women, serving our community, and creating an impact that lasts beyond the crown.

Thank you to Ryo J | Hawai’i Videographer for beautifully capturing our story and helping us share what this organization means to us!

✨ Could you be our next Miss International Hawaiʻi? ✨

Reflecting on one of the most impactful moments of the Miss International Hawaii 2027 Pageant: the Closed Door Interview Competition. ✨🌺

This portion of the competition allowed each delegate to share her story, values, and experiences with the judges. These conversations showcased the heart behind each contestant and the purpose that drives their journey.

These are just a few snippets from the delegates’ interviews, highlighting the authenticity, confidence, and individuality each woman brought to the competition. Beyond the crown, Miss International Hawaii celebrates women who are prepared to lead, inspire, and make a difference in their communities.

Congratulations to all of our delegates for sharing your voices and showing us the power of purpose, passion, and authenticity.
