Some of the Northwest Focus Midgets Asphalt Series recently made the trip north of the border to Agassiz Speedway, BC, to attend the 10th Anniversary Fred Rannard Sr. Memorial Open Wheel Classic.
What a weekend it was! ๐๐ฅ
From the moment we arrived, the Agassiz group made us feel right at home. The racers, fans, and entire Agassiz Speedway family were incredibly welcoming. โค๏ธ
And what a COOL place to race โ tucked up along the mountainside with an absolutely beautiful backdrop. โฐ๏ธ๐
It was great to see so many people come out to support the event and enjoy the racing... The grandstands were packed!!
๐บ๐ธ Brian Hayes and Jason Thomas represented the Northwest Focus Midgets Asphalt Series and put on one heck of a show!
๐ Brian Hayes
โข Qualified 5th
โข Finished 4th in the Main
โข Led the Main for approximately 5โ8 laps โ and did it on his BIRTHDAY! ๐๐
๐ Jason Thomas
โข Qualified 2nd
โข Won the Dash ๐
โข Finished 2nd in the Main ๐ฅ
The overall points battle came down to a tie between Jason Thomas and Joey Silas of J.S. Motorsports.
With the tie needing to be settled, the winner was ultimately determined by a quarter flipโฆ and Jason called it right! ๐ช๐
That gave Jason Thomas the overall win and first-place money!
What an incredible way to represent the new Northwest Focus Midgets Asphalt Series on the other side of the border. ๐บ๐ธ๐จ๐ฆ
The racing, atmosphere, and camaraderie made it a night we'll definitely remember.
๐ค Racing is about more than just competition โ it's about supporting each other, growing the sport, helping put more cars on the track, and sharing our passion with the people who make this sport possible.
Thank you, Agassiz Speedway! We had an absolute blast and hope to see you all again soon!
A track a racer should definitely check out!
